Here's our review of episode two in Marvel's Defenders miniseries. Spoilers ahead...
The long-awaited Marvel-Netflix show has finally dropped, and once again we’re doing daily write ups of every episode, highlighting the influences, in-jokes, reference points and Easter eggs we spotted, as well as a few thoughts on the show itself.
As usual feel free to discuss whether you’re watching along or you’ve seen it all, but please don’t spoil future episodes for anyone in the comments.
If episode 1 seemed low on action, episode 2 really gets straight down to it. The sequence of Matt giving into temptation and resuming his vigilante activity would’ve been a great capper to episode 1, but putting it at the start of episode 2 at least ensures there’s a good fight scene here. »

Although the excellent Sicario was a modest hit at best ($84 million in worldwide box office against a $30 million budget), talk of a sequel started during the film's theatrical run and now that talk has turned into reality. The follow-up film, which will be titled Soldado, is moving forward with stars Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro expected to return.
Not coming back for a second run at those Mexican drug cartels are Emily Blunt, who will be off singing and nannying her heart out in Mary Poppins Returns, and director Denis Villenueve, who's working on Blade Runner 2. Brassed Off! heads to the stage later this month, along with a full brass band...
We’ve no shortage of love for the wonderful Brassed Off! around these parts, Mark Herman’s superb film about a miners’ colliery band and how its future is threatened when the coal mine itself comes under threat of closure. The film is now 20 years old, but still feels relevant and fresh. And now, it’s the latest movie to make the jump from the big screen to the stage.
Interestingly, this isn’t a massive West End endeavour, either. Rather, it’s the first time in nearly 40 years that the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre is putting together its own full scale production itself.
Gareth Tudor Prince is directing the new production, and Paul Allen has »

Dragon Age's creative director has raised hopes that we might be getting a sequel to the action RPG series...
BioWare's "secret" work on a new Dragon Age title is quickly becoming one of the worst kept secrets in the industry.
While BioWare has yet to officially confirm that they intend to develop a new Dragon Age game, recent hirings of former Dragon Age contributors and social media statements have long suggested that they are working on some kind of project associated with the series.
Now, BioWare's Mike Laidlaw has added to the confusion surrounding the "will they or won't they" development of a new Dragon Age game.
"There is no planned ending for Da. There is an evolving plan that tends to look two games ahead or so," said Laidlaw »
Some projects kick around Hollywood for years and wind up in development hell, and others manage to escape such a fate, and actually get made. As it turns out, “Cowboy Ninja Viking” is just such a picture.
Kicking around since at least 2010, the comic adaptation has seen various talent take a crack at it, including “Deadpool” and “Zombieland” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with Marc Forster attached to direct at one point, as were “John Wick” duo David Leitch and Chad Stahelski.

We've been on the Cowboy Ninja Viking grind since 2010, almost as long as the Image Comics property from writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo has been in existence. Over the years, we brought you news on its long-in-development adaptation process, from the announcement that Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Zombieland, Deadpool) had been tapped to pen the screenplay, to the news that Chris Pratt would be stepping into the title role for the big-screen version. Now, as THR reports, the Universal Pictures film is slated to hit theaters on June 28, 2019. Pratt … »

It was only a matter of time, wasn’t it?
Not even 24 hours have passed since Josh Brolin’s Cable was unveiled to the world – cute teddy bear included – and Just Jared has now relayed the latest helping of Deadpool 2 set photos that find the Avengers: Infinity War actor shooting scenes on the streets of Vancouver. Similar to how Ryan Reynolds fast-tracked Domino’s official character portrait before the paparazzi could spoil the surprise, if nothing else, today’s new set snaps act as confirmation that Reynolds’ plan worked like a charm. What’s more, they also unveil Josh Brolin’s stunt double and a heavily-armed truck smashing through the bustling Canadian city.
The real point of discussion will be how these scenes in question filter into Deadpool 2‘s story – a story rustled up by returning screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. It’s worth noting that the »

‘Deadpool 2‘ star/producer Ryan Reynolds has tweeted out the first full look at Cable (Josh Brolin) in the upcoming sequel. Production on the film is currently underway, with both Reynolds and Brolin teasing the character for months until the big reveal today.
Cable was first announced in the post-credits scene of the original ‘Deadpool‘, and the casting of Brolin seems to be spot on. As a crucial member of the the X-Men universe, as well as the X-Force movie that is currently in development, it makes sense that the casting and design of this character is essential for this universe. So far, it seems a if they have hit the nail on the head.
In the comics, Nathan Summers is the biological son of the X-Man Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor (Jean Grey‘s clone), the “half” brother of Rachel Summers and Nate Grey, and the genetic template for Stryfe. »
