Jasheim Wade, also known as Jay7, is a multi-talented American artist, entrepreneur, and US Army Combat Infantry Veteran. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Jasheim's diverse background and deep musical roots have shaped his remarkable career in the music industry.
Raised by parents Francine Campbell and Jamel Wade, Jasheim was influenced by his grandfather, the renowned American singer, musician, and actor Adam Wade, known as the first African American game show host on the CBS show "Musical Chairs."
In 2006, Jasheim made the decision to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army as an Infantryman, where he bravely fought in combat to combat terrorism. After six years of dedicated service, he received an honorable discharge and returned to civilian life.
In 2010, Jay7 embarked on a new chapter in his career as a DJ and Radio Personality for WFXE Foxie 105, a popular Mainstream Urban station under Davis Broadcasting in Columbus, GA. He made history as the first active-duty soldier to host a mainstream FM radio show, showcasing his unique blend of military and music careers.
After five successful years in radio, Jay7 transitioned into the business side of the music industry, founding his record label, Lagrand Records, where he signed and mentored six talented artists, demonstrating his entrepreneurial acumen and commitment to nurturing emerging talent.
Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic in early 2020, Jay7 seized the opportunity to launch his own music career as an artist. His debut single, "Autobahn," released on a significant date - his father Jamel Wade's birthday on September 28, 2020 - marked a new chapter in his artistic journey.
Aside from his musical accomplishments, Jay7's personal life is equally fulfilling. He tied the knot with Financial guru turned hip-hop artist Jasmine Wade, also known as Raquel Lagrand, in 2015. The couple shares a beautiful family with four children: Jaylin Wade, Jalil Wade, Jadynn Wade, and Jordynn Wade.
Moreover, Jay7 took the initiative to partner with his father to establish the television Network "Seven On Demand," showcasing their shared vision for innovative and engaging entertainment.
Through his musical skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and unwavering passion for his craft, Jasheim Wade, known as Jay7 and "The Untouchable" DJ Jay7, continues to captivate audiences, leaving a lasting impact in the music and radio industries.
