Morgan Freeman Is Colin Powell in Bush Era Biopic
Morgan Freeman has signed on to play former Secretary of State Colin Powell in a new biopic entitled Powell, which is being set up at Hyde Park Entertainment. Reginald Hudlin, who directed Marshall, the Thurgood Marshall biopic that hit theaters last weekend, is attached to direct, from a script by Ed Whitworth, which landed on the coveted Black List back in 2011. No production schedule has been given thus far, but with a major star like Morgan Freeman on board, it's possible that this could move forward very quickly.

The script follows Colin Powell when he was Secretary of State for President George W. Bush, following his service as a decorated U.S. Army General. He was the first ever African-American Secretary of State in U.S. history. He initially did not approve of the President's plan to invade Iraq, since he didn't believe that they possessed weapons of mass destruction.

Whoopi Goldberg to Return for ‘The View’ Season 21 (Exclusive)

Whoopi Goldberg to Return for ‘The View’ Season 21 (Exclusive)
Whoopi Goldberg is ready to ring in her 10th anniversary at “The View.” The Oscar-winning actress will return as the moderator for the show’s 21st season this fall, Variety has learned.

Her contract renewal is an important one for ABC, as Goldberg has been the glue that’s kept “The View” together since creator Barbara Walters retired in 2014.

By focusing on political stories under Trump’s presidency, ratings for “The View” this season are at its highest in three years. The show averaged 2.6 million viewers last week, beating “The Talk,” which tends to veer away from politics in favor of pop culture. And “The View” has landed big guests over the last year, such as Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Senator Elizabeth Warren, and former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice.

A spokesperson for ABC declined to comment.

Goldberg joined “The View” in the late summer of 2007, and she’s been at the Hot Topics table for

Ryan Reynolds may be great at hunting down evil scientists in Deadpool, but you definitely don’t want this Marvel star anywhere near the stove.

In his exclusive interview for Men’s Health’s September cover story, Reynolds trashed his culinary skills, saying that if he were to cook he could very well start a “structure fire.”

“I am not innovative in the kitchen,” the Hitman’s Bodyguard star said. “The firemen will kick down our door, take my wife away, and give her a better life.”

It should come as no surprise, then, that when it comes to his go-to cheat day meal,

Return of the Donald: Gop Politicians Support Trump, Again, After Briefly Revolting
Donald Trump said “the shackles” are off — but is he really free of the Gop?

Some Republicans who abandoned their party’s presidential nominee in the wake of last week’s 2005 tape scandal are already reneging on their recent condemnations.

Republican Colorado Senate nominee Darryl Glenn is one of several party members to reverse course in the span of just a few days. Last week, Glenn issued a since-removed statement on his Facebook wall calling for the businessman to cede the nomination to running mate Mike Pence, said the Denver Post.

“[I am] calling on Donald Trump to do the honorable, selfless

The protective walls of the Gop are crumbling around Donald Trump in the wake of the leaked 2005 tape of him making lewd and predatory comments about women. In the rubble, even one of his most loyal surrogates, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, is sharply criticizing him and refusing, for now at least, to appear at his side.

Christie, who was a no-show at the second presidential debate on Sunday night, said Tuesday that Trump’s 2005 comments are “indefensible” and his apology should have been more “direct.”

“I was there when he found out about it and there’s no question
