Billy Bollotino Is Now Director of ‘Conan’

Conan O’Brien has someone new calling the shots on his show — well, at least in terms of the nightly production of the TBS program.

Billy Bollotino, who has been backup director on “Conan” since 2011 and has been with O’Brien for 18 years, took over the directly reins on the show from Allan Kartun on January 4. Kartun had previously directed “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien” on NBC, and moved with O’Brien when he set up shop at the Time Warner cable network.

Bollotino has worked on “Deon Cole’s Black Box” as well as “The Pete Holmes Show,” a late-night program produced by O’Brien’s Conaco production company that followed his TBS program for part of 2013 and 2014.
