Kelly's gone country ... again!Kelly Clarkson just dropped her new single "Don't Rush," and it's a departure from her usual pop style. The song features country superstar Vince Gill. Listen below:This is Kelly's second foray into country; she and Jason Aldean recorded the ballad "Don't You Wanna Stay." "Don't Rush" is definitely more uptempo, and even has an '80s easy listening vibe.Still, Kelly's voice shines through."Don't Rush" is one of two new singles on Kelly's "Greatest Hits -- Chapter One" album due out November 19 -- the other being "Catch My Breath." The album also features a slew of the original "American Idol" winner's songs, including "A Moment Like This," "Since U Been Gone," and "My Life Would Suck Without You."If you ask us, Kelly should also release a greatest covers album, including her renditions of Adele, Eminem, Coldplay and fellow "Idol" Carrie Underwood. When Pepsi asked lifelong Cowboys superfan Kelly Clarkson if she'd be interested in writing a song to echo through Cowboys Stadium, she jumped at the chance ... and then used her gut reaction to pen Get Up, a highly infectious new single for the Pepsi & NFL Anthems program (Kid Rock, Ice Cube, Wiz Khalifa and Travie McCoy also recorded new tunes for their favorite teams).
But trusting her gut has been working to Kelly's advantage for over a decade as she's continued to turn lyrics into anthemic mission statements thereby cementing a insanely loyal fan following. This year, we were rewarded like never before as every stop on her Stronger Tour featured Kelly slaying a fan-requested cover -- many of which have gone viral and led to deafening demands for a proper album.
Whether or not that's truly in the cards was just one of the subjects I broached while chatting with Kelly about drawing inspiration from her »
The last few years we have been witnessing this trend of young talented singers who hope to get noticed by putting up videos on YouTube singing their own version of several current hit songs. Think of Sam Tsui, Nataly Dawn and Esmee Denters, and of course one of the most famous examples, who now has a succesfull singing career, is that of teen idol Justin Bieber, who got noticed by Usher.
It seems that now in India we have found one young talented boy named Armaan Malik. Malik gained a lot of curiosity and a lot of views in the last few months when he released his version of Bruno Mars’ song ‘Just the Way You Are’.

Taking its name from a Coldplay song and with the excellent Hope Davis guest starring, this week’s episode of The Newsroom sees the show truly getting into its stride. After viewing the first four episodes, I can safely say that this is truly becoming one of the must see shows on television. It’s not perfect by any means and this episode in particular shows just how good, and how bad it can be. There are better shows out there, that’s for sure, but for the pure entertainment of seeing this ensemble cast speaking Aaron Sorkin‘s dialogue, there truly is nothing better.
It starts out at Acn’s New Year’s Eve party and predictably romance is in the air. Jim and Maggie still won’t get it on because Don is still getting in the way, despite the fact that Maggie would rather be with Jim. »

Webb made his feature directorial debut back in 2009 with one of the most memorable indie films this side of the millennium, (500) Days of Summer. It turned a budget of $7.5m. into $60m. at the box office – and no doubt huge sums since its DVD/Blu-ray release – and really put stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel on the big screen mainstream radar.
Before that, though, he’d long since made a name for himself directing some of the biggest and best artists around, working predominantly with rock bands, but also with the likes of Fergie, Regina Spektor, and P. Diddy.
Webb clearly has a great taste in music, with Coldplay’s ’Til Kingdom Come (the »

Join me from 7.20pm on Saturday as Leanne, Tyler, Bo and Vince sing it out for £100,000 and a record deal
Good evening, and welcome to The Voice final: the liveblog. These last three months have been a rollercoaster - albeit one of those rollercoasters where everyone jumps off halfway through because they're so incredibly bored - and it's all been leading up to this point. Tonight we'll discover who'll win The Voice and receive a record company contract. Given that nobody actually watches The Voice any more, it'll probably be a contract to clean windows, but beggars can't really be choosers at this point.
So who'll win tonight? Well, it won't be favourites Jaz Ellington, Ruth Brown or Becky Hill - because they all got booted off on Sunday during a genuinely shocking results show. So it's either going to be Bo, Vince, Leanne or Tyler. It's anyone's game. Except for Tyler's. »

Rita Ora was flown by private jet to a Coldplay gig after working on 'The X Factor' yesterday (29.05.12). The show's boss Simon Cowell - who is no longer on the panel of the UK show - was said to be so impressed with her performance as a guest judge on the show he chartered her a plane so she could get to her support slot in Coventry quicker than by helicopter. A source said: ''Simon and the show's producers were really impressed by Rita. She was warm and funny and gave everybody constructive criticism. ''When they asked her to stay »
Ricky Gervais has defended Coldplay against an apparent "backlash" among certain sections of the public. The Office comedian, a long-time fan of the 'Princess of China' indie band, believes it is impossible to criticise their desire to be successful. Speaking about "straight down the line" bands, he told Q magazine: "Coldplay. There's obviously a backlash against them." While acknowledging that the Mylo Xyloto group are "not the coolest in the world", Gervais insisted (more) »

Good evening, and welcome to The Voice semi-final liveblog. This is where things get serious - for the first time this series, all the acts from all the coaches will take their turn to sing live on stage. Which of these plucky young upstarts will make it through to bask in the glory of next week's big final? Well, Jaz, Ruth, Becky and Bo, obviously. But don't let that put you off.
There are other questions to be answered tonight. Questions like "How many songs will Jessie J pull to standstill this week?", "Will Tom Jones ever be able to think up a word that rhymes with 'cow'?" and "How tall will Holly Willoughby be this week? Eight feet? Nine?". Hopefully we'll »

It appears that three of the most in-demand artists around will be congregating at the same music festival in the U.K. this fall with impalpable Jack White, tween heart-throbbers One Direction, and R&B megastar Usher all signing up to perform at this year’s iTunes Festival, taking place in London in September.
The festival runs as a series of absolutely free shows taking place throughout the month (in past years it's taken place in July), and all performances will be taking place at the same venue, London’s iconic Roundhouse.
Interestingly, all three acts have performed on this season of “Saturday Night Live” with Usher being the most recent. (He even helped out host Will Ferrell with a sketch and appeared in the all-star 100th digital short).

Join Stuart Heritage from 7.10pm for The Voice's second live show as Jessie and Danny's teams go head to head, fighting for survival
Hello, and welcome to The Voice liveblog. Can you believe it's only been one week since we were last here, watching Thingy competently sing that song and The One With The Hat competently sing that other song? It seems like a different time, man. A different time.
You might remember that last week The Voice dismissed Sophie Griffin, who sang a song that nobody had heard of in a way that nobody wanted to pay attention to; and Sam Buttery, who reacted to his elimination in the precise manner of an old lady watching her house burn down. With her cats in it. But forget those two, because tonight we've got ten more singers to plough through.
Last week was dedicated to the acts coached by Tom Jones and Will. »

Few musicians of today have reached the revered, iconic status of the Flaming Lips’ frontman Wayne Coyne – the zany, free-spirited entity who somehow slipped his way into the mainstream pop culture strata. His group has only one genuine hit to their name, yet they’re one of the most popular “underground” bands to ever exist. (Although, being on Warner Bros Records, they were never truly “underground” – more like out of place).
It’s rather surprising that the band hasn’t curated a music festival of their own considering the wealth of critical acclaim – and well, love – they receive from fellow musicians, which helps explains how they recruited so many friends for their new album. When I saw Coldplay perform in Coyne’s hometown of Oklahoma City back in ’03, Chris Martin donned a Lips shirt and they performed a cover of the Lips’ “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, »

Typically, an '80s night of any TV show would have us very excited, especially one that is musically-inclined. However, considering how poorly Billy Joel night went, we have our reservations about this batch of "American Idols" tackling '80s mus- oh dear God in heaven, what is Steven Tyler wearing tonight? He's like Josephine, the Amazing Technicolor Drag Queen. And Randy looks like he's attending a clown funeral after the show wraps.
Seacrest welcomes us by saying this music will take some of us back to our high school prom. Well, sure. And for some of the viewers, they're at home asking their parents what the "eighties" are.

We're running out of ways to critique this guy. He picks boring songs, his falsetto is not as good as everybody acts like it is and he's so milquetoast on stage that we need toothpicks to prop our eyes open. »
Good evening, and welcome to our first ever The Voice liveblog. Over the next couple of hours, we'll discover the answers to several questions. Questions like "What is The Voice?", "Is The Voice an X Factor killer?" and "Oh bum, this is going to be exactly like Fame Academy, isn't it?".
As you're probably aware, the main gimmick of The Voice is that the judges - no, sorry, the Coaches - can't see the singers. Everything is based on vocal talent alone. That could mean we're about to uncover the next Susan Boyle. Alternatively, it could mean we're about to uncover an army of blandly uncharismatic backing singers who we'll never hear from again. But let's wait and see.
I'd suggest playing »
