Roland Orzabal was born on August 22, 1961 in Havant, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England as Raoul Jaime Orzabal de la Quintana. He has been married to Caroline Johnston since September 10, 1982. They have two children.

Co-founder of the band Tears for Fears with Curt Smith.
Plays guitar, piano and keyboards.
His sons are Raoul Orzabal (b 1991) and Pascal Orzabal (b 1994).
He is the middle of three sons. His brothers are Julian Orzabal (b 1965) and Carlos Orzabal (b 1959).
Son of Margaret and George Orzabal de la Quintana.
His father is French with some Basque-Spanish ancestry, and his mother is English.
Originally his name was Raoul for a week before his mother changed his name to Roland because the family was then living in England.
Originally living in Portsmouth, his mother left his father and took Roland and his two brothers to live with an aunt in Bath. It was there that he later met Curt Smith when they were both 13 years old.
He met his wife Caroline Johnston when he was just 13 years old. They married on September 10 1982, just as Tears For Fears' first hit single "Mad World" was released.
