He has directed the annual Bradford Film Festival (which began in 1995) since 2000. The festival is hosted and operated by the UK's National Museum of Photography, Film & Television. Earnshaw also conducts many of the festival's 'Screentalk' interviews.

Earnshaw was responsible for setting up the Fantastic Films Weekend at the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television in Bradford, England. The event celebrates classic horror, science-fiction and fantasy films. The FFW began in 2002 and, at the time of writing (May 2006), is about to mark its fifth birthday.

Delivered a lecture entitled Richard Burton: Lion of the Welsh which also toured other venues across the UK.

Authored 18-film Richard Burton season in August 2009 at London's National Film Theatre tied in to the 25th anniversary of Burton's death in 1984.
