Formed by lead singer Dexter Holland as a teenager.
Parted ways with Brett Gurewitz (of Bad Religion)'s label, Epitaph Records, and moved to their current label, Columbia Records [1996].
Found commercial success with the song "Come out and Play".

Their 1994 album "Smash" is considered one of the top selling punk albums in the entire world, containing hit singles "Come Out and Play", "Self-Esteem", "Gotta Get Away" and "Bad Habit".
