In the biggest original-comedy opening since Ted, a seasoned police detective takes his fast-talking brother-in-law-to-be on the ride of a lifetime. Ride Along will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, including Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD with UltraViolet and On Demand on April 15, 2014, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. This film will also be available on Digital HD two weeks early on April 1, 2014. An all-new comedy from director Tim Story (Think Like a Man, Fantastic Four, Barbershop), Ride Along stars actor and recording artist Ice Cube (Barbershop, 21 Jump Street) and actor and comedian Kevin Hart (Think Like a Man, Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain) in a film that Scott Bowles of USA Today calls "downright hilarious!"

Following the success of their hit comedy Ride Along, which has earned just over $120 million worldwide since its release last month, Universal Pictures is bringing back Ice Cube and Kevin Hart for Ride Along 2.
The original creative team from Ride Along is back for the sequel as well, with Tim Story directing from a script by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. William Packer is also returning to produce, with the studio eyeing a late June/early July production start for the follow-up. No story details have been released, but there is talk that the plot will have a more multi-cultural appeal to expand the comedy's reach to other parts of the world. While the original Ride Along has done quite well domestically, earning $117.2 million, it has only made $3.4 million from six international territories, although the comedy will be expanding to more countries in the near future.

As someone who absolutely adored the Ice Cube buddy cop comedy All About the Benjamins I was really looking forward to Cube’s latest buddy comedy Ride Along, especially given that it also stars man of the moment Kevin Hart, whose career is currently in take off. But then (at least here in the UK) All About the Benjamins was something of an underrated gem just waiting to be discovered by those who enjoy the genre; but with this film hitting the top of the Us box office it brings with it a ton of hype for its UK debut, which I had to wonder if it could ever live up to… »
