Andy Saunders entered the music industry in 1987, beginning his career packing records for an independent distributor in a cold north London warehouse. After spending time in a sales role he progressed to work for Acid House pioneers Pacific Records before leaving to run the export and licensing department at independent classical music specialists Conifer Records.
In the late 1980's he ran a number of record labels for heavy metal giants Roadrunner Records, working with artists such as Sepultura, Obituary and Deicide, before joining the legendary Creation Records as Director of Communications, where he spent a decade helping oversee worldwide sales of over 50 million albums from artists such as Oasis ,Sugar, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine, Teenage Fanclub, Ride, Super Furry Animals , The Boo Radleys and many others.
In 2000 Andy founded Velocity Communications, a consultancy that specializes in providing corporate communications strategy and implementation for a wide range of clients including record labels, music publishers, digital music platforms, artist management companies, high profile industry executives, legal firms, technology developers, live music agents/promoters and trade organizations among others.
He has recently acted as Executive Producer on a new six-part television series called 'ICON - Music Through the Lens' which debuted on Sky Arts n the UK in Autumn 2020.
