Star Season 1 Episode 8 Review: Mama's Boy

15 February 2017 7:20 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

The latest installment of the Star saga was an ideal example of the show's split personality.

It was part political statement against police brutality and the system's bias against black men, part sexy and suspenseful soap opera, and all insanity.

On Star Season 1 Episode 8, Alex was released from jail thanks to the intervention of her mother, Rose, who showed up to pay her bail and chew her out. Derek wasn't so lucky, though.

Despite Derek's lack of a prior criminal record, and the fact that, you know, he was innocent of any crime, his bail was set at a seemingly insurmountable $250,000.

As Miss Bruce points out, they only need to raise ten percent of that amount for the bail bondsman. But where to get $25,000?

Tina Fey, Steve Carell and More Bring Their Old Yearbook Photos to Life in Inspiring Super Bowl Ad

2 February 2017 6:55 PM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Some of Hollywood's biggest stars revisited their old (and sometimes embarrassing) school yearbook photos in a new Super Bowl commercial.

While most Super Bowl commercials are either funny (e.g. Old Spice's "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like") or moving (e.g. Budweiser's "Lost Dog"), this 60-second spot for Honda manages to be both.

The ad brings the stars’ throwback pics to life through the use of CGI, making the images appear to move while present-day Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Robert Redford, Amy Adams, Magic Johnson, Missy Elliott, Stan Lee, Jimmy Kimmel and Viola Davis deliver the lines.

"At times, you might fall flat on your face," Adams says in the clip. "But technically that's still moving forward."

In the commercial, we get a glimpse at Fey's detached corsage, Carell's dubious mustache and Kimmel's unfortunate tuxedo.
