8 Dlc Characters We’d Love To See In Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite

Is Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite essentially just one big popularity contest? As of writing, we’re still a ways off from knowing the full roster (leaks aren’t always 100 percent accurate, after all), so it’s too early to make a final judgment, but so far, that certainly appears to be the case.

It makes sense that both parties involved in the crossover want to push the beat ’em up to as wide an audience as possible, but if such a decision is being made at the expense of including lesser-known characters, the strict adherence to including only those individuals with global appeal could well end up hurting Infinite‘s success more than help it. With the exception of a handful of newcomers (Gamora, Sigma, Jedah), the game’s edging dangerously close to familiar territory rather than breaking new ground.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m as happy to

Entire Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Roster Seemingly Leaked; X-Men Fail To Make The Cut

The entire roster for Capcom’s crossover brawler Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite appears to have leaked online, revealing the return (and absence) of several fan favorite characters. Coming by way of NeoGAF user Ryce (via VG247), the list pegs the number of characters included in the final roster at 28, with 14 representatives for each side, although Capcom’s side appears to be missing one member, a spot that, Ryce speculates, could be reserved for Dead Rising‘s Frank West.

As usual, none of this should be considered official until Capcom says otherwise, but Ryce has been accurate with various leaks relating to Infinite in the past, so the credibility is certainly there. Anyway, without further ado, you can see the near-complete roster below. It goes without saying, of course, that you’ll be reading spoilers galore beyond this point.

Ed Catto: On the Road, On Free Comic Book Day

You’ve doubtlessly heard of Dante’s Inferno and his seven circles of hell. But did you know he had a couple of sequels, including Paradiso (i.e., Paradise)? I touch upon this I think that for so many geeks across the world, Free Comic Book Day is a uniquely shared day of celebration. This year, for this mini-paradise, I embarked on what was a sort of Circle of Free Comic Book Day: a seven store marathon Fcbd pilgrimage to learn how it’s changed and why it’s a bigger deal each and every year.

I live just outside of New York City in New Jersey, so I mapped out a plan of action to visit several stores for the 14th Annual Free Comic Book Day. Created by entrepreneur, retailer, visionary and all-around-great-guy, Joe Fields, this holiday has now grown to a worldwide event, distributing an estimated 5.3 million comics,

Hey Fandom, I’m back with New Comics Now! This week I have a lot of All New Marvel Now that I’m enjoying including Moon Knight, Magneto, and She-Hulk. Charles Soule’s Inhuman delivered with Joe Mad’s character designs. I’m digging the new Inhuman concept even though the guy named Dante’s code name is Inferno. Spider-man’s Ogn Family Business is here by Waid and Robinson with art by Dell’Otto! And Carnage vs Deadpool #1 was melt your face off crazy for fans of either character.

Video Interview: Director Peter Segal discusses ‘Grudge Match’

In Grudge Match, De Niro and Stallone play Billy “The Kid” McDonnen and Henry “Razor” Sharp, two local Pittsburgh fighters whose fierce rivalry put them in the national spotlight. Each had scored a victory against the other during their heyday, but in 1983, on the eve of their decisive third match, Razor suddenly announced his retirement, refusing to explain why but effectively delivering a knock-out punch to both their careers. Thirty years later, boxing promoter Dante Slate, Jr., seeing big dollar signs, makes them an offer they can’t refuse: to re-enter the ring and settle the score once and for all.

In this interview, Nerdly’s film correspondent, James Kleinmann, asks director Peter Segal (Get Smart, The Longest Yard) how the project initially came together.

Grudge Match is released in the UK on January 24th.

Benelux focus at When East Meets West

  • ScreenDaily
Benelux is the regional focus for Trieste’s fourth edition of its When East Meets West (Wemw) co-production forum (January 20-22, 2014) being held during the Trieste Film Festival.

Eight of the 22 projects being presented in public pitches at the forum, which runs Jan 20-22, will be projects from the Benelux countries - Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg - looking for potential co-producers and distributors from Italy or Eastern Europe.

They include new projects from Luxembourg’s Bady Minck, 1313 Dante’s Emperor, and The Netherlands’ David Verbeek, Full Contact, as well as the Belgian documentary film-makers Daniel Lambo, Eternal Silence, and Gilles Coton, Meet Enver Hadri.

Wemw’s project manager Alessandro Gropplero told ScreenDaily that this year’s call for projects had attracted a record 200 entries - 23 from the Benelux, 32 from Italy and 145 from Eastern Europe - with 140 fiction film projects and 60 documentary projects.

An international jury then selected 10 fiction and 12 documentary projects in development to be pitched

The top 25 underappreciated films of 1998

Odd List Ryan Lambie Simon Brew 14 Nov 2013 - 06:19

The overlooked greats of the year 1998 come under the spotlight in our list of its 25 underappreciated movies...

Dominated as it was by the financial success of two giant killer asteroid movies, gross-out comedy hit There's Something About Mary and Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, 1998 proved to be an extraordinary year for cinema.

Okay, so history doesn't look back too fondly on Roland Emmerich's mishandled Godzilla remake, and Lethal Weapon 4 was hardly the best buddy-cop flick ever made, despite its handsome profit. But search outside the top-10 grossing films of that year, and you'll find all kinds of spectacular modern classics: Peter Weir's wonderful The Truman Show, John Frankenheimer's rock-solid thriller Ronin, and Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line.

Then there was The Big Lebowski, the Coen brothers' sublime comedy that has since become a deserved and oft-quoted cult favourite.

Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro Battle it Out in First Grudge Match Trailer

Because you’ve always wanted to see Rocky Balboa and Jake La Motta go at it in the ring once and for all, Warner Bros. decided to give you Peter Segal’s “Grudge Match”, a boxing movie starring the two actors who played those two roles. It’s not the actual characters from their respective movies, but apparently it’s kinda like those characters. Or something. Check out the first trailer for “Grudge Match” below. In “Grudge Match,” De Niro and Stallone play Billy “The Kid” McDonnen and Henry “Razor” Sharp, two local Pittsburgh fighters whose fierce rivalry put them in the national spotlight. Each had scored a victory against the other during their heyday, but in 1983, on the eve of their decisive third match, Razor suddenly announced his retirement, refusing to explain why but effectively delivering a knock-out punch to both their careers. The HeyUGuys Instant Watching Viewer’s Guide – June 2013

Remember ten years ago when you would be in HMV looking at a DVD box set of something like The West Wing and then unfolding the twenty pound note in your pocket and wondering whether to part with all that cash for something you had never seen? You had just heard that someone somewhere liked it, but for that £30 you could get two films like Bad Boys 2 and Kill Bill volume 1!

These were difficult times my friends, and more often than not £30 would go down the drain and you would watch three episodes of whatever series it was and decide it wasn’t for you. Well thanks to modern technology and its mission to kill DVD, Blu-Ray and whatever other physical media dinosaur you prefer, this dilemma is a thing of the past.

Nowadays you can go onto Lovefilm, Netflix, BT Vision or whatever else and stream whole seasons of TV for almost nothing.
