The show, scheduled to premiere this summer, centers on two young, fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants street lawyers who cause a seismic culture clash when they join a legendary, button-down law firm. Fox News Chief Blasts NPR 'Nazis'

17 November 2010 6:39 PM, PST | The Daily Beast | See recent The Daily Beast news »

Roger Ailes slams Jon Stewart as a conservative-basher, explains why he rode to Juan Williams' rescue-and sees NPR as taxpayer-funded propaganda. Part II of Howard Kurtz's interview.

Update: On Thursday, Ailes apologized to the Anti-Defamation League (Adl) for describing NPR brass as "Nazis." He wrote: "I was of course ad-libbing and should not have chosen that word but I was angry at the time because of NPR's willingness to censor Juan Williams for not being liberal enough... My now considered opinion 'nasty, inflexible bigot' would have worked better." Abraham H. Foxman, Adl's national director and a Holocaust survivor, responded: "I welcome Roger Ailes apology, which is as sincere as it is heartfelt. Nazi comparisons of this nature are clearly inappropriate and offensive. While I wish Roger had never invoked that terminology, I appreciate his efforts to immediately reach out and to retract his words before they did any further harm. »

Mark-Paul Gosselaar is lawyering up again at TNT, playing one of the title characters in a new series called "Franklin & Bash."

The cable channel announced the series pickup on Friday (May 14), while its sister network TBS has ordered a comedy about college life in the 1980s called "Glory Daze."

Both shows were originally developed for TBS, which is looking to add a couple of hour-long comedies to its roster of original shows. But "Franklin & Bash" was deemed a better fit at TNT, where it has a 10-episode order.

The show stars Breckin Meyer as Jared Franklin and Gosselaar, late of TNT's "Raising the Bar," as Steven Bash, a pair of street lawyers who are hired by a prestigious firm; culture clash ensues. The series will also feature Malcolm McDowell as the head of the firm, along with Dana Davis ("Heroes"), Reed Diamond ("Dollhouse"), Garcelle Beauvais ("NYPD Blue") and Kumail Nanjiani »

10 Things I Hate About You (Volume One) – DVD Review

3 February 2010 5:53 PM, PST | | See recent Reel Loop news »

1. The show tries to stay true to the original movie, and mostly succeeds.

2. Lindsey Shaw was attractive until I discovered she was from Nebraska.

3. There are times I actually did laugh, which is surprising considering I’m not the demographic.

4. However, the pop culture references do get to be a little much.

5. Meaghan Martin is still underage, and still more attractive than Lindsey Shaw only because she’s not from Nebraska.

6. Ethan Peck should have taken acting lessons from grandpa Gregory, and the only I reason I know those two are related is because Wikipedia says so.

7. Kyle Kaplan has some talent, he just needs to hone his timing.

8. Michael Braun is decent, but never quite recaptures that lovable ’80’s doofus.

9. Fans of the movie will be pleased with this adaptation, and everyone else might be pleasantly surprised with it.

10. Seriously, Lindsey Shaw was attractive until I discovered she was from Nebraska. »
