In 1990, he was rewarded with his own early-evening show (A Kind of
Magic) which, at that time, was seen as the first real challenge to the
UK dominance of fellow magician, Paul Daniels. The programme's subtle
humour combined with the youthful exuberance of its star and the able
assistance of glamour model, Linda Lusardi, brought an Americanised
slickness not seen before on UK magic shows.
