Dunderheaded news anchor Ron Burgundy's habit of mindlessly reading whatever was put in front of him became a major plot point in that superb 2004 comedy, and a it's an awkward situation a British newsreader got himself on BBC World News recently.
As the Beeb's Jonathan Charles finds to his cost, it's sometimes a good idea to pause for breath between sentences. It's nowhere near as bad as Ron Burgundy's career-destroying outburst in Anchorman, but it's almost as funny...
