Carol Kirkwood voted off Strictly Come Dancing

Carol Kirkwood has been voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing'. The BBC weather presenter's American Smooth to Shania Twain's 'Man I Feel Like A Woman' failed to impress in the dance off against fellow contestant Kellie Bright and her partner Kevin Clifton's waltz. Speaking after her exit, Carol said: ''It has just been the most wonderful experience ever; I will never forget this for as long as I live. ''And it's a huge thank you from everybody to the runners to make up to hair to the judges for all your encouragement. The contestants, the crew. And Pasha, he's just wonderful - he's got

Strictly Come Dancing 2015 winner: We rank the celebrities' chances of topping BBC One's dance-off

Strictly Come Dancing had another classic Halloween episode this weekend, but of course it was scarier for some of the celebrities than others. But who looks like they might be out of the running and who is creeping closer to that Glitter Ball trophy?

Out of the running: Kirsty Gallacher

Well, this seems particularly cruel. Kirsty had finally started to turn things around last week and was creeping up our rankings… but then her Halloween Charleston went horribly wrong with slips and mistakes and she picked up her lowest score of the series before becoming the first woman to be booted out (she joins the series' other eliminees Iwan Thomas, Anthony Ogogo, Daniel O'Donnell and Ainsley Harriott). Bad luck, Kirsty.

10. Jamelia (⬇3)

It doesn't seem quite fair to have Jamelia at the bottom of the rankings. She's far from the worst dancer in the competition and she's been improving, too, but

Strictly's Jeremy Vine: "Carol Kirkwood's been a revelation - she was absolutely certain she'd be first out"

Strictly Come Dancing's Jeremy Vine has described Carol Kirkwood as a "revelation" and revealed who he thinks deserves to win the ballroom dancing competition.

The 50-year-old BBC broadcaster - who performed the salsa to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' on the show last night - told Digital Spy: "The two standing out - in terms of they've had no previous experience but are brilliant - are Katie Derham and Anita Rani.

"And my friend Carol Kirkwood was absolutely certain she'd be first out. She's got a little bit more confidence every time I see her and she's enjoying it a lot more.

"Carol's been a revelation. At the beginning she was feeling like she would be placed last but actually she's done more than held her own."

The BBC Radio Two DJ admitted that while he'd love to win, The Wanted's Jay McGuiness, Country File's Rani and former contestant Olympian

Strictly Come Dancing: All the Halloween week dances and scores

It's Halloween week on Strictly Come Dancing, with scary make-up and spooky props aplenty.

But who brought a bit of magic to the dance floor, and who had a monstrous night? Find out with our round-up of the scores and comments from judges Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli - and you can relive every dance below:

1. Katie Derham & Anton Du Beke dancing the paso doble to 'Phantom of the Opera' by Steve Harley and Sarah Brightman: 4+6+6+5=21

Len: "The problem is you're like an English rose and the paso is a cactus, sharp aggressive and spiky. It doesn't really suit your personality. I got the willies at one time when I thought you would use the wrong foot. It wasn't great, Kate - I wish it was."

Darcey: "You look the part – absolutely stunning. To help strengthen your performance use those beautiful eyes.

It's Halloween on Strictly Come Dancing, which, of course means an array of exuberant costumes and terrifying dancing (sorry, Jeremy).

As always, Digital Spy had its eyes glued to the second screen, and here's the the most entertaining reactions to tonight's show:

Strictly Come Dancing 2015: Carol Vorderman backs 'brilliant' Carol Kirkwood

Strictly Come Dancing star Carol Kirkwood has received the backing of a former contestant - Carol Vorderman.

Vorderman took part in the show in 2004 and told the Daily Express that she loves watching her namesake.

"She's doing brilliantly, isn't she?" she said. "Also with Carol, she hasn't been trained in a stage school and is such a lovely lady. I think it's unfair that you have stage school graduates... there should be some handicap somewhere.

"You just can't compare! It's like having someone that has swum for their county and another who hasn't swum before and telling them to have a race."

And while Kirkwood hasn't quite managed to win over the judges yet, Vorderman added: "She's very gracious when it comes to criticism. She shouldn't be criticised though - people should be encouraged."

Kirkwood will be attempting to pick up high scores with her rumba to The Partridge Family

Watch BBC newsreader Joanna Gosling style it out after missing her cue

Is this the smoothest newsreader ever? Joanna Gosling more than made up for missing her cue on BBC News this morning (October 27) with a suave recovery.

Gosling was late to start her report, but styled it out with a smooth "belated good morning".

When the news goes wrong: 8 of the best ever news bloopers

The presenter avoided a Tomasz Schafernaker-esque blunder with the move, and was able to continue her report.

It's almost a shame, as we love a good newsreader blunder at Digital Spy – who could forget the time Carol Kirkwood's seaside weather report was ruined by a squatting dog, or the times Nicky Campbell, James Naughtie, Andrew Marr, Jeremy Paxman and Bill Turnbull all dropped the C-bomb live on air?

Bruno: "You're a gorgeous little strumpet! Those hips were like a bag of steps. More of that please. It's good to see you so alive. Be careful of the lifts' dismount – that has to be absolutely flawless."

Carol Kirkwood's date offers

Carol Kirkwood has been flooded with date offers from viewers since she has appeared on 'Strictly Come Dancing.' The weather presenter, 53, split from her husband Jimmy in 2012 following 25 years of marriage and, although she's been bombarded with numerous love letters, she's adamant she's not looking to romance anyone new just yet. She explained: ''I was married for a long time and I got married quite young so it's nice doing things I have the freedom to do now. If I want to go out to the theatre or go out with friends for dinner, I've got that freedom. ''Nobody has

Strictly Come Dancing 2015: Carol Kirkwood was banned from smiling in her paso doble... which made her laugh

Strictly Come Dancing star Carol Kirkwood has revealed that she nearly giggled her way through the paso doble.

The BBC Weather presenter - who picked up her highest score of the series for her paso - admitted that it was tough to get into character for the moody dance.

"Just before we went on to the floor, [my partner] Pasha [Kovalev] came up while the Vt was playing, took my head in his hands and said, 'Do not smile, do not laugh for the next 90 seconds'," she said on Strictly: It Takes Two. "Which of course made me laugh immediately. But then just looking at him because he was so 'grr' all the way through it, that really helped."

And Carol revealed that she "really enjoyed" the dance, adding: "I think that was the first time I felt I was actually doing something because it was so alien to my normal life and my normal face.

Strictly Come Dancing: All the dances, judges' comments and scores from Week 4

Strictly Come Dancing is now into its fourth week and the competition is really hotting up, with an incredibly close leaderboard.

Digital Spy was watching along and have rounded up all of the scores and judges' comments below:

1. Anita Rani and Gleb Savchenko dancing the samba to 'Hips Don't Lie by Shakira: 6+7+7+7=27

Len: "Your hips certainly don't lie. A little bit long getting started but once you got into it… I thought you coped very well. I think it could have been better leg action, but I'm being pernickety."

Bruno: "That was warming up nicely. The samba has a carefree feel to it, but a couple of times there you got a little tangled and it kind of stopped it a little bit. The technique is actually very very hard. It was a bit on and off."

2. Daniel O'Donnell & Kristina Rihanoff dancing the American Smooth to 'Fly Me To The Moon

Len: "I thought that routine had far more content than previous weeks. I love the way you come out and enjoy yourself, and it made me enjoy it. A lovely bubbly dance."
