Christoper lives in France with his wife. Fans of his father's works often are reported to "harass" the family, and ask for personal autographs and even money. Usually, though, they just want a glimpse at a relative of the great author. As a result, Christopher keeps a wild boar in his garden, which deters unwanted visitors.

Much to his father's dismay, he and his brother, Michael Tolkien, served in the Royal Air Force. Tolkien described aerial combat as "immoral".

Third son and literary heir of writer J.R.R. Tolkien. Brother of Priscilla Tolkien, Michael Tolkien, and Father John Tolkien.

Where Are They Now

(2001) Literally hiding in France in retort to obsessive and extreme fans of the his father's works. Christopher changed his name (though he still writes under his birth name), keeps a low profile and continues to both enjoy retirement and act as the Tolkien Estates literary editor and heir.
