'How To Make it In America' Season 3 not going to happen: Bryan Greenberg comments

20 December 2011 7:26 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

On Tuesday, HBO officially canceled "How To Make It In America," their series about a group of friends... well, trying to make it in the New York City fashion world. Starring Bryan Greenberg, Victor Rasuk, Lake Bell, and even Kid Cudi, the series read a bit like "Entourage" (with Mark Wahlberg behind the scenes) minus the money, with added New York grit.

In its second season, "How to Make It In America" averaged about 2.3 million viewers on Sunday nights -- down 25% from its first season -- and suffered from a serious lack of buzz. (In comparison, HBO didn't cancel the newbie "Enlightened," which only premiered to 1.5 million viewers, but which did get some Golden Globe love this week.)

"Thanks to @HBO for the 2 seasons of #HowToMakeIt It was a unbelievable experience playing Ben Epstein," Greenberg tweeted on Tuesday after the announcement was made. "Thank you to all of the fans of How To Make It. »

How to Make It in America: It's Not Just Entourage with Jeans

18 November 2011 8:30 AM, PST | TV.com | See recent TV.com news »

.It.s a show about jeans..

That.s the way How to Make It in America was first pitched to me, and can you blame me for not being all that enthused? Even now, as a fan of the series, I find it difficult to explain. No, they don.t sell jeans anymore. Yes, they.re still trying to make it in America. No, it.s not a drama. No, it.s not really a comedy either. Yes, Bryan Greenberg and Lake Bell remain...  More >> »

#43. The Normals - Kevin Patrick Connors I've lost count of how many items Jess Weixler is attached to in my predictions list - but here is another indie comedy with actor Bryan Greenberg in the lead, a supporting perf from indie stalwart John Sayles and with a newbie filmmaker in the driver's seat. Kevin Patrick Connors' has been to Park City before as an Executive Producer on Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, and The Normals will be his big coming out party. If accepted, this book adaptation will be part of the Premieres line-up. Gist: Based on the novel by David Gilbert, written by Chris Ciancimino, with a debt collector hot on his trail, Harvard graduate Billy Schine (Greenberg) enrolls in a clinical drug trial to make a quick buck. Who Scored First On Glamour's Sexiest Male Poll?

4 October 2011 11:02 AM, PDT | Celebsology | See recent Celebsology news »

Rob Pattinson truly is a beautiful, beautiful man. He not only won this year but also beat out some of the hottest male celebrities out there for a third consecutive year in a row!

You did it Twilight fans! Glamour magazine will be featuring the news in its upcoming edition. What a coincidence that girlfriend Kristen Stewart heads the cover for it.

Other candidates in the poll included George Clooney, Jake Gyllenhaall, Alexander Skarsgard, Bradley Cooper, Darren Criss, Ryan Reynolds, Justin Bieber and Prince Harry. Glee's Darren Criss making the list is well deserved. His fans pretty much made producers keep him as a regular for its third season. Justin Bieber though? Little teen tweens should not be reading Glamour, therefore, their opinion shouldn't be accounted for. That's a lame excuse but its lame Justin was even being considered.

R. Patz is crazy attractive, but does he really deserve to win? »

'How to Make It in America' premiere: Will the Crisp crew ever shake the 'Entourage' comparisons?

2 October 2011 8:01 PM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

After a long wait — even by HBO standards — How to Make It in America and the Crisp boys returned with a literal bang. Ben (Bryan Greenberg) and Cam (Victor Rasuk), fresh from their business/pleasure trip to Japan, try to bring Shinjuku to the Lower East Side with a fetish-themed pop-up store. The guys are trying to reinvent themselves and infuse their brand with the “downtown dirtbag” cred that seems to be working for the doughnut-poking frontmen of their competitor brand Neanderthal.

But the problem — and perhaps the charm of this show — is that while Ben and Cam are willing »

‘How to Make It In America’: Can It Fill the ‘Entourage’ Void?

HBO Scene from “How to Make It in America.”

Even before “How To Make It In America” premiered on HBO last year, comparisons to HBO’s other male-centered show, “Entourage” were inevitable, albeit unfair. Both shows centered on the story of young, children-less men striving to become success stories against the backdrop of big American cities (“Entourage,” Los Angeles; “How To Make It In America,” New York City), But while  “Entourage” was a story about having fame and fortune and getting more, »

How To Make It In America: Dream Big Or Go Home

30 September 2011 4:32 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

If you're a 20-something living in New York, traversing the downtown scene in search of big breaks and big dreams, chances are How to Make It in America is your kind of show. If you're not, the popular HBO series probably makes you wish you were.

How to Make It, created by native New Yorker Ian Edelman, chronicles the journey of two childhood friends from the Lower East Side with skyscraper-sized aspirations -- -- played by Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk -- who set out to start their own apparel company. The show, which begins its second season on Oct. 2, offers not only a spot-on gritty-meets-glamorous view of life in the Big Apple, but one of the more realistic portrayals of entrepreneurial life in one of the city's sexiest and storied industries -- fashion.

The first season introduced viewers to Ben Epstein and Cam Calderon and their unlikely friendship that »

The American Dream Team?

30 September 2011 2:04 PM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Victor Rasuk, one of the stars of HBO's "How to Make It in America," grew up on Avenue D and East 8th Street, in the gritty outskirts of New York's East Village, much like his character on the show. Looking at him now, though, you would never assume he once aspired to be like the hustlers on Avenue D. In fact, he seems kind of goofy -- too friendly to be a tough guy and too good-looking for street fights.

"One of my favorite places is Tompkins Square Park," he says with a smile. "I learned to play basketball there, that's where I learned to play football, I had my first kiss in that park -- that park, to me, was my escape from the concrete jungle."

Growing up in the projects, acting seemed more like a dream than a reality. "I would go to Cafe Pick-Me-Up on Avenue A »

TV Review: Mediocre ‘Hung,’ ‘How to Make It in America’ Return to HBO

30 September 2011 11:39 AM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – Not all HBO shows are created equal. While critics have devoted thousands of words to the brilliance of shows like “Boardwalk Empire,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “Game of Thrones,” a few other offerings from the most important TV network of the last quarter-century have gone under the radar. Should they have? Should you dig down and find “How to Make It in America”” and “Hung,” starting their second and third seasons, respectively, on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011? Well, not really.

Hung” is the superior of the two offerings but this appropriate pairing suffers in both halves for similar reasons — neither show feels genuine; both are proof that television is still a writer’s medium and if the writing isn’t there, it just doesn’t work. The strong ensemble of “Hung” can sometimes elevate the material and, on a similar note, the young cast of “How to Make It in America »
