Director Micho Rutare’s upcoming suspense flick “Adopting Terror” stars Sean Astin, Samaire Armstrong, Monet Mazur, Brendan Fehr, and Michael Gross. Here’s the twist: it was produced by The Asylum and on the Lifetime network. Now, I’m not saying that the either company is incapable of producing something worthy of Astin’s talents, though I must say that I do have my doubts. Of course, Astin isn’t without his stinkers — Frank Coraci’s “Click” is garbage and you know it — and, honestly, the previews don’t paint a pretty picture, either. Be that as it may, it’s an Asylum flick starring Sean Action; skipping it would be a direct insult to my wonky cinematic sensibilities. And we can’t have that, can we? The official synopsis reads something like this: Tim and Cheryl Broadbent are excited to finally adopt Mona, a beautiful baby girl. But when »

When tragedy strikes, the first thing we do is look for someone to blame. Most of the time there is no one ... but sometimes? Well sometimes there is, and sooner or later cosmic retribution will come their way!
Just in time for Cannes we have the trailer and early artwork for director Brett Donowho's (At Silver Falls) new flick, 5 Souls, starring Ian Bohen (Pearl Harbor), Steve Bacic, Kristina Anapau (Black Swan), Steven Schub (The Thirteenth Floor), Samaire Armstrong (“The Oc”), and Allison McAtee (“NCIS”).

Tonight’s The Mentalist (TV) wins the award for longest episode title that has really nothing to do with the episode plot. That said, it was a pretty enjoyable episode with some nice character driven moments for the cast. In fact, Cho (Tim Kang) might have walked away with the most emotional story line with his quirky Ci Summer (Samaire Armstrong) and that is always a welcome surprise. The facts are these: A surfer and underwater salvage diver has gone missing, with only his expensive surfboard left on the beach. While chasing crabs – because it’s a beach and butterflies rarely lead one to the corpses - Jane (Simon Baker) manages to stumble on the missing man’s dead body. Sounds easy enough, right? Much to Lisbon’s (Robin Tunney) dismay, this case will land someone from her past right back in her lap, and unfortunately, right in front of Patrick Jane as well. »

People don’t often have the courage to finally express themselves until they meet someone who allows them to follow their dreams. Children can be suppressed by their parents’ well-meaning motivations to protect them from the world. As a result, they don’t realize their full potential until they meet someone their own age who challenges them. This can be seen with the title character in the new independent drama ‘Around June,’ which is now playing in select theaters. ‘Around June’ follows the title character (played by Samaire Armstrong), who leads a quiet life in the shadow of the San Francisco shipyards. June lives under the care of her much adored Uncle [ Read More ] »

Samaire Armstrong shared a few of her diet and workout tips with Shape magazine. When it comes to staying energized, the actress says she is not a coffee drinker, but prefers to drink Japanese Iced Green Tea instead.
"It reminds me of growing up as a kid," Armstrong said. "It is also a fantastic alternative to coffee or sugar-free Red Bull."
When it comes to snacks, Armstrong says her favorite go-to is edamame.
The actress also has a very healthy attitude toward working out -- if she misses a day, she doesn't beat herself up about it.
"I've spend most of my life doing some sort of exercise, but I've learned to never push myself into doing it," she said. "I know that when I am up for it I will, and when I'm not in the mood to, I don't make myself feel badly over it."

It's nice to see some consequences for Jane (Simon Baker) come about. He did incite a serial killer, Red John, into slicing and dicing Panzer (another serial killer). And while that might be a "public service" murder, it's still, as Lisbon says, "not good." Team Lisbon (Robin Tunney) is called out to a marina where a pushy, entitled, annoying divorce lawyer named Creek wants Cbi to protect him against death threats. And they can thank Cho's (Tim Kang) platinum blonde Ci, Summer (Samaire Armstrong) for that, since Creek was one of her clients and she recommended Cbi to him. It's all for naught though, since Creek and his snazzy speed boat blow up right in front of Lisbon, Cho and Jane. Cho and Lisbon run toward the explosion, Jane high-tails it away. What else would we expect him to do? After watching what is presumably a shark nab Creek's severed leg in the harbor – oh, »

A woman at a club leaves after receiving a text message, bumping into another woman along the way. She's shot, (that was a woman's hand holding the gun so not much room for a slew of suspects). Patrick (Simon Baker) comments Lisbon (Robin Tunney) looks rested. Chief Henderson (Dean Norris) called for help. Patrick notices two shots were fired to her head. Her name is Yolanda (Natalia Costellanos) and she has a stamp on her wrist from Club Luxure. He also notices her polish was 'sloppily' applied... She was also wearing a sports bra with which Lisbon agrees. Patrick wonders why she was wearing a disguise, which was the key word for this episode, as will be revealed later. Henderson knew her, she was an undercover cop, working narcotics. Known as Yoli, her ID must be kept secret. Henderson leaves after insulting Patrick and telling Lisbon to keep the "circus act under control. »
