Ashley is an award-winning director with a career spanning over two decades, producing a spectrum of work that includes films, visual art, commercial and experimental video and mass participation pieces across and outside of the UK. Ashley is captivated by stories about human experiences, and the fact that we all have something to share if we allow ourselves time and space to explore ideas of community, to be socially engaging, and internationally-minded. He is known for the feature documentary and theatre film of Geraldine Connors epic masterpiece Carnival Messiah, which debuted at the Leeds International Film Festival and won the Peoples Choice Award for Best Documentary at the Trinidad Film Festival.
2022-2023 Marks a new journey of creativity with the release of six short films, BFI Doc Society funded 25min hybrid film #BlackBoyJoyGone, multi award-winning ACE funded 40min dance theatre film DISPLACED, Journey's Festival - ArtReach funded 15min refugee dance video and animation film Reckoning, Serendipity's documentary Siren Calls: To An Illusive Journey, the self-funded South Asian dance-drama UnLimited Desires and Harewood House Trust funded poetic dance film Tales Of The Winter Solstice.
