Phil Hawkins is an award-winning feature film and commercials director. He's directed countless high profile television campaigns around the world and made six indie feature films released by the likes of Sony, Netflix and Lionsgate. From adaptations of Greek tragedy and a YA novel, to comedy satire and psychological thrillers, Phil's work crosses many genres but retains a cinematic and emotional edge. "Prancer: A Christmas Tale", starring Oscar-nominated James Cromwell, is his latest film and marks his first studio feature for Universal Pictures & Sky Studios.
He also wrote & directed what is probably the most expensive fan film ever made. "Star Wars Origins" was a passion project shot on location in the Sahara Desert that took three years to make. It combines his love of the action-adventure genre, Star Wars and Indiana Jones in a unique re-telling of the beginnings of the saga. Highly praised by Mark Hamill himself, it's been critically acclaimed as an "epic masterpiece".
