Rapper Drake had the Web buzzing when he and his Young Money label-mate Nicki Minaj Tweeted last month that they suddenly got married. "Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and don't stare at her too long," the rapper Tweeted on Aug. 27. "She's finally mine." "Yes, it's true," Minaj, 25, added via Twitter. "Drake and I tied the knot." But no one was more surprised to hear the supposed big news than the rapper's mother. "My mom was actually like, 'What happened? How did you elope?' " the rapper, 23, told People at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday. "But we were just joking around. »

Rapper Drake tweeted on Friday (Aug. 27), "Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She's finally mine. :)
Nicki Minaj promptly "confirmed" it by tweeting, "Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot." Earlier she teased the rapper on Twitter with a "U scurred? @drakkardnoir u ready to make the announcement or wha?", to which Drake responded, "Baby I am never scared. Proud is more the word I would use."
But reps for both rappers tell E! Online that they did not get married. The entire publicity stunt stems from the lyrics for Drake's song "Miss Me," in which he raps, "I love Nicki Minaj, I told her, I'd admit it; I hope one day we get married, just to say we f******* did it."
Good one, guys. Your names are now all over the internet and we're sure the song »
Drake and Nicki Minaj have caught media attention with their Twitter declaration that they have already tied the knot. Representatives for both the "Best I Ever Had" singer and the "Your Love" rapper, however, were quick to set the record straight, insisting to E! News that the two music newcomers are not married.
The shocking confession was set off by Nicki's tweet to Drake on Friday afternoon, August 27. She wrote, "U scurred? @drakkardnoir u ready to make the announcement or wha?" Answering the question about an hour later, 23-year-old Drake tweeted, "Baby I am never scared. Proud is more the word I would use."
Drake, who gained his fame from TV series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" before making his break in music, followed it up with announcement, "Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She's finally mine. :)." 25-year-old Nicki re-tweeted the posting and added, »
They f--king did it. Played a joke, that is. Reps for both Drake and Nicki Minaj tell E! News that the rappers did not tie the knot, though both tweeted that they did earlier today. While Drake said in his tune "Miss Me" that he fancied marrying the Trinidadian newcomer, the duo decided to team up instead for what appears to be a publicity stunt. (And we bet plenty of people have been looking up that song today.) "Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She's finally mine. :)," he tweeted Friday afternoon. Minaj went ahead and "confimed" via Twitter as well. "Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot," she »

HollywoodNews.com: Drake and Nicki Minaj took to social networking to make the big announcement that they are now married.
Drake proudly stated the fact on his Twitter: “Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She’s finally mine.” But in case that wasn’t obvious enough for some to pick up on, Nicki confirmed the news on her Twitter: “Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot.”
Drake recently canceled his European tour this summer to be with his ailing mom. Sounds like he decided to sneak in a wedding as well.

With the new tv show Undercovers premiering next month, starring the already oft-mentioned Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who I know best at Freema Agyeman’s (#1 on my ‘Wifey List’) sister on Dr. Who, and pretty-boy extraordinaire Boris Kodjoe, I thought I’d focus on what seems to be, in a good way, a proliferation of Black men on tv shows lately. Although these guys are supporting characters, they’re playing some pretty intense roles and putting forth some great comedic and dramatic performances. Though none of these are network shows like Undercovers, they are often better (and sometimes better performing) than those.

The best woman Drake has ever known remains his mom. The up-and-coming rapper has canceled plans to tour Europe this summer so that he can be with his ailing mom while she recovers from surgery, he said in a statement Thursday. He had tweeted last night: "Back at my moms house...please include her in your prayers tonight as tmrw she faces a true challenge." Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, also gave an emotional shout-out to his mom Sunday at the Bet Awards, where he was named Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. "Despite my best hopes, it is apparent that my mother will need surgery earlier than anticipated," the Thank Me Later artist said today. "In light of this »
Drake has teamed up with Chris Brown. While on route to Toronto on Tuesday, June 29, the "Best I Ever Had" hitmaker opened up to Extra that he has spent a lot of his time in the studio and has managed to fit in some studio time with the "Closer" singer.
"Yeah, I've been working all night," the 23-year-old R&B singer said in the interview. He continued on, "I've just been in the studio. I was actually in the studio with Chris Brown for a little bit. Then I was studio hopping, seeing where I can lend my hand since I've done mine."
During the interview, the Canadian rapper also talked about his upcoming tour in Canada which is scheduled to be kicked off on July 15. "It's very exhausting but an unique experience," he said. "I know Justin Bieber just started his tour a couple dates ago, and I had »
Hip-hop phenom Drake may only be 23 years old, but his roots in the rap world run quite deep. His debut album Thank Me Later (which just dropped into stores this week) is the result of years of studying at the feet of a handful of masters, toiling in the mixtape circuit and traveling across most of the eastern part of North America in an effort to synthesize his unique style and to build his credibility.
But who is connected to the man born Aubrey Graham? As you can see in the family tree below, there are a number of branches that stretch Drake's development in a number of different directions.
There are a handful of associates from Toronto (Oliver, 40 and Niko) as well as a handful of dudes who have had his back since the beginning (including about-to-blow producer Boi 1da and R&B sex jammer Trey Songz). Then there is Drake's actual label family, »

In case you didn't know, Drake isn't your average rapper. Maybe it's because Drake, born Aubrey Graham, is Canadian bred, and Canadians -- well, they're just different. Or maybe it's due to the fact that Drake, 23, began his career playing the role of Jimmy Brooks on the hit high school drama series "Degrassi: The Next Generation." Perhaps it's the way Drake can spit a mean 16-bars on the mic, and then seamlessly switch it up and sing his own hooks and melodies, sans Autotune. We think what sets Drake apart from the pack of today's young male rappers is that he is not afraid to step out of the box »
