Mahmudul Islam is a Bangladeshi filmmaker, working since 2006. He has directed and produced feature films, several television fictions and hundreds of TV Commercials. He made his debut short film in 2006, under the banner of Chabial Uthshab for local TV channel. Chabial Uthshab forever changed the style of storytelling of the Bangladeshi visual medium by bringing realism into it. He also worked as a 2nd Unit Director in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's feature film 'DOOB-No Bed Of Roses''. He is one of the eleven filmmakers of Bangladesh's first anthology film "Sincerely Yours, Dhaka", which was premiered at Busan International Film Festival 2018 followed by twenty other film festival around the world. The film is currently available on popular streaming platform Netflix. In 2021 the co-directed "Ladies and Gentlemen", a web series for international platform ZEE5. Recently he worked as an associate producer on feature length documentary "Things I Could Never Tell My Mother" which has its world-premiere at Visions Du Reel film festival and also been shown in other prestigious festivals like Lussas Documentary Film Festival, Flahartina Documentary Film Festival and is set to show in IDFA, Traces de Vies, Doc Point Helsinki, Message To Man and many more places.
