Beyonce & Blue Ivy Snapping Selfies at NBA All-Star Game

  • TMZ
Beyonce showed Blue Ivy how it's done in the selfie department during the NBA All-Star Game, but to be honest doesn't look like the kid needs any advice.  Mother and daughter sat courtside Sunday evening at Staples Center along with grandma Tina Knowles, and her hubby, Richard Lawson. Looks like Jay-z stayed home with the twins. Even without Jay, there was no shortage of celebs -- like Dave Chappelle, Common, Cardi BJack Nicholson and many more ... packed the arena.

Oscars 2018: 10 Nominees Long Overdue for a Win

Oscars 2018: 10 Nominees Long Overdue for a Win
Back in 1982, Randy Newman picked up his first two Oscar nominations, for an original song and score for the movie Ragtime. Twenty years – and over a dozen more noms – later, Newman eventually brought home an Academy Award, for the Monsters, Inc. tune "If I Didn't Have You." The statuette, you could argue, was way, way overdue. (How did he not win for The Natural score? Or for "You've Got a Friend in Me," for Zurg's sake?)

That's just one example among many: Remember when living-legend Ennio Morricone won his first

John Wick 3 Will Begin Shooting Earlier Than Expected

John Wick is gearing up for more action very soon. According to a new report, John Wick 3 is set to begin filming this April. It's unclear at the present time where filming will initially commence, but the movie is expected to film in various locations during production, including New York City, Montreal and possibly Russia and Spain. The movie is in pre-production right now, with director Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the first John Wick and went solo for John Wick: Chapter 2, returning to helm the final installment of the trilogy. Though it was initially believed to be shooting on March 1, that got pushed out, now the production table is being pulled back in.

As it stands, the plot for John Wick: Chapter 3 is being kept under wraps and it's not difficult to imagine that the creative team will want to keep it that way for as long as possible.

Oscars 2018: Best Song Nominee ‘Stand Up For Something’ Seizes the Zeitgeist
The Oscar-nominated song from “Marshall,” “Stand Up For Something,” composed by Diane Warren and Common, has become a Trump era anthem for social justice, adopted by #MeToo, #TimesUp, the Aclu, and the National Women’s Law Center, among others.

But it’s more of a hopeful call to action in the spirit of ’60s soul music rather than a protest song. “It’s coming from another era but it’s a modern song,” said Warren, the nine-time Oscar nominee in search of her first win to accompany her Grammy and Emmy. “And when Common’s on there, it’s like a mash-up of these genres and decades of music.”

Common (an Oscar winner for “Glory” from “Selma”) said he was inspired to write from the heart. “And I just hope the song inspires hope and to be better human beings so we can better the world for each other,” he added.

Lena Waithe and Common On How They Hope ‘The Chi’ Will Generate Empathy for Black Families — Turn It On Podcast
Lena Waithe’s desire for how “The Chi” is received is heartbreaking. Quite simply, she hopes the show helps audience better see African Americans as human beings.

“As simple as concept as it is, it’s still something that people struggle with,” she told IndieWire’s Turn It On podcast. ” Black people are not 3/5ths human and we’re not all hooligans. Black boys aren’t born with a gun in their right hand and drugs in their left. They’re born with as much promise and hope as anybody else. ‘The Chi’ represents the humanity in us and the full breadth of who we are as a people. I hope people take that away from the show.”

IndieWire TV critic Ben Travers sat down recently with Waithe and fellow executive producer Common to discuss the show and how it came about. They began by discussing what inspired Waithe to create the show.
