Mark Allen Shepherd was born on January 7, 1961 in Rockville Centre, New York, USA. He is known for his work on Babylon Vista (2001), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) and "Star Trek: The Continuing Mission" (2007).

Among the first wave of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) action figures, a figure of his character, Morn, was also released.

Although his character, Morn, on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) was described as talkative and outgoing and was frequently talked to by other characters, Shepherd never actually spoke a single word on the show throughout its entire run.
In a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) episode in which Shepherd's character, Morn, has disappeared, the person Quark invites to sit in Morn's favorite chair is played by Shepherd himself.
Along with Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Armin Shimerman, John de Lancie, Michael Ansara and Richard Poe, he is one of only seven actors to play the same character in three different live-action "Star Trek" series.
