National Geographic’s ‘Mars’ Series Headed to Blu-ray and DVD in April

1 March 2017 9:51 AM, PST | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

Did you happen to catch the quite awesome Mars series on National Geographic late last year? If not then don't worry as Mars Season 1 is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on April 11th, 2017.

Mars stars Ben Cotton, Alberto AmmannAnamaria MarincaClementine Poidatz, Jihae and Sammi Rotibi, and is an epic docudrama series set in the year 2033. It jumps between two timelines: the non-fictional present, where real-life game changing people like Elon Musk, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Stephen Petranek talk about their hopes for putting people on Mars; and a fictional future where colonization begins and attempts to grow in the harsh environment.

Brian Grazer and Ron Howard executive produce Mars and it shows with visual effects befitting a Hollywood cinematic production. You almost expect Matt Damon to pop up and offer his expertise. A second season has already been ordered up by National Geographic.
