Bill Hader Is Leaving Saturday Night Live

14 May 2013 8:40 AM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Arrivederci, Vinny Vedecci. So long, Stefon. Bill Hader will be leaving Saturday Night Live after its season finale this Saturday - and he's taking his arsenal of spot-on impersonations and wacky characters with him, reports The New York Times. "It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point," Hader told the Times. "It got to a point where I said, 'Maybe it’s just time to go.' "And while he admits it was tough telling executive producer Lorne Michaels he planned to leave, it clearly could have been a lot worse. "I'd heard stories that »

Bill Hader is leaving Saturday Night Live after eight seasons as one of its most versatile and hilarious players. The 34-year-old actor arrived at 30 Rock in 2005 and quickly carved out a role for himself with some of the show’s most popular characters, including “Weekend Update” special guests Stefon and James Carville, and an array of oddball game-show hosts. “It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” Hader told the New York Times. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’”

‘The To-Do List’: Director Maggie Carey Goes Home in Aubrey Plaza Comedy

18 April 2013 1:30 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Maggie Carey, director of “The To-Do List” has big plans for her 20-year high-school reunion in June at Borah High School in Boise, Idaho.

She’s trying to arrange for a screening of the CBS Films’ comedy — set in 1993 in Boise and based partly on her experiences as a Type A high-achiever. In the movie, Aubrey Plaza portrays a tightly wound high school senior who decides methodically while working as a lifeguard that she will lose her virginity by the end of the summer with the help of friends, played by Alia Shawkat and Sarah Steele, and her older sister, played by Rachel Bilson.

Carey, along with husband, Bill Hader and Plaza, came to CinemaCon to promote the micro-budget “The To-Do List” — which carries a $1.2 million price tag — at a well-received late-night screening Wednesday at the Orleans multiplex a mile away from Caesars Palace, where nearly all of the four-day event took place. »

Aubrey Plaza Gets Suggestive In The To-Do List Clip

11 April 2013 6:39 AM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Before last summer's indie hit Safety Not Guaranteed, you could be forgiven for thinking Aubrey Plaza's primary talent was rolling her eyes or glaring at the main character. As a supporting presence in Funny People, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and of course Parks & Recreation, Plaza was sardonic and funny but often a little one-note, the dark-eyed scowler adding conflict for the central story but never getting one of her own. But just as her character on Parks & Rec was growing up a bit, Plaza showed even more of her skills in the charming Safety Not Guaranteed-- and now she's expanding her repertoire even more in The To-Do List, the comedy set to arrive this summer. Written and directed by Maggie Carey, the comedy stars Plaza as a recent high school graduate determined to get in all the sexual experience she's missed out on before heading to college »
