"Orange is the New Black" Recap & Review: Season 3 Finale

It's only fitting in a season defined by its relentless desire to challenge the faith of its characters, for the third season finale of "Orange is the New Black" to present the inmates with an actual miracle. Obviously the hole in the fence has a very good reason for being there and there is also a very good reason the inmates are able to take advantage of it, but they make the narrative feat executed by Jenji Kohan and the other writers no less miraculous. Those reasons might even make the final scene more special when you stop to consider all of the events that had to transpire to make it possible. "Trust No Bitch" begins not long after the closing moments of the previous episode and lets Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning) and Big Boo (Lea DeLaria) come to terms with not fully exacting their revenge on Coates (James McMenamin). Indie Horror Month Exclusive: Co-Writer/Director Andrew Weiner Talks The Frankenstein Theory

This week Image Entertainment released first-time director Andrew Weiner's docu-style indie thriller The Frankenstein Theory, which resurrects one of the genre's most beloved giants as a 300-year-old experiment gone awry in the Arctic Circle, on DVD and VOD.

Co-written by Weiner and Vlady Pildysh, The Frankenstein Theory stars Kris Lemche, Christine Lakin, Joe Egender, Heather Stephens, Eric Zuckerman and Brian Henderson. Dread Central recently chatted with Weiner about his first-time experiences at the helm of the found-footage style project, what inspired the story of The Frankenstein Theory, whether or not he's got a plan for a sequel and much more.

Found Footage Thriller The Frankenstein Theory Brings a Roar in this Trailer

The found footage style of filmmaking remains popular. Director Andrew Weiner's The Frankenstein Theory is the latest horror film it add itself to this sub-genre. In this incarnation, a documentary team heads out to the Arctic Circle in search of Frankenstein. Apparently, this monster is buried in the snow, somewhere in this frigid clime. The Frankenstein Theory will release March 26th on DVD and the film's first trailer is hosted here. The clip shows four friends heading out on their sojourn, while their guide dies mysteriously. Now, these four filmmakers will have to find a way out of their dangerous predicament before Frankenstein turns them into his dinner. Horror fans can watch the clip below. Synopsis

Axis of Comedy Lands Six-Figure ‘Watchmen’ Campaign, More ‘Kyle Piccolo’

NY-based web studio For Your Imagination announced that Warner Bros Theatrical, as part of the massive marketing push behind their upcoming The Watchmen film, has inked a sponsorship deal with the Fyi's Axis of Comedy network. As part of the six-figure deal, a handful of the Axis web series will be participating—Abigail's Teen Diary, The Retributioners, Kyle Piccolo: Comic Shop Therapist and HungrymanTV's Phistophicles. Kyle PiccoloThe funding makes way for three new episodes of Kyle Piccolo, which has been known to integrate comic movies directly into the storylines before (see the series' Dark Knight deal last summer). The three new episodes will be dubbed "3 6 9," the first one (above) officially premieres tomorrow and will be littered with hidden Watchmen references for eager fans of the film. Kyle Piccolo star Eric Zuckerman (right), who plays the advice spouting comic shop clerk, says that he's really excited to have the series back up and running.
