Coinciding with the release of today's rather splendid action-packed fourth theatrical trailer for Man of Steel, The New York Times has posted an article featuring interviews with director Zack Snyder (Watchmen), producer Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises) and screenwriter David S. Goyer (Batman Begins), as the trio discuss how they intend to make 'The World's Greatest Superhero' relevant for the 21st century.
"When they try to dress him up, put him in jeans and a T-shirt or a leather jacket with an S on it, I go: ‘What? Guys, it’s O.K. It’s Superman. He’s the king daddy. You should all be bowing down to him,'" states Snyder. "He’s a really cool mythological contradiction. He’s incredibly familiar Americana and alien, exotic, bizarroland, but beautifully woven together. All of us, in a weird way, are that same kind of contradiction — no one’s that simple. »

Zack Snyder, director of Watchmen and 300, is behind the camera for the blockbuster with The Dark Knight trilogy's Christopher Nolan producing.
Cavill recently discussed Nolan's involvement in the project, saying that he wasn't present during the shooting of the comic book film.
"I'm sure Zack had a phone call or two with him, but this is definitely Zack's baby," he said. "He was the man in charge, and we created the character together, as opposed to having too many outside influences."

Following General Zod’s warning on the Man Of Steel website, we have a new, massive, action-packed trailer. This one is entitled “Fate Of Your Planet,” so you know the stakes are high. Michael Shannon is throwing his hat into the ring for best villain of the summer. It might be tough to top Benedict Cumberbatch, or Guy Pearce, or Ben Kingsley, but I wouldn’t bet against the man.
Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Russell Crowe, Michael Kelly, Harry Lennix and Richard Schiff star in Zack Snyder’s WB film. It’s coming June 14th. »
