7 Unforgettable Teen TV Show Theme Songs You Should Still Listen to, Ranked

  • Moviefone
Show of hands if you spent a lot of college listening to Remy Zero or Paula Cole on your Winamp?

Okay, you can put your hands down. (We can't see them.) But, we can see why you opened up your ears to the aforementioned artists -- they blessed us with two of the best teen TV show theme songs in the history of time.

From "Smallville's" apt "Save Me," to "I Don't Want to Wait" from "Dawson's Creek," we've assembled more memorable themes you shouldn't feel embarrassed adding to your Spotify.

7. "My So-Called Life Theme" From "My So-Called Life" (1994 - 1995)

If high-school angst and nostalgia had theme music, this would be it. No lyrics, just all the feels.

6. 'Where You Lead" From "Gilmore Girls" (2000 - 2007)

The Gilmores arguably have the most "fall as f**k" theme ever made. Which probably explains why we never fast-forward through it during our binge watching sessions.

'American Idol' Xiii Top 11: Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson lead a strong night

It's movie week on "American Idol" Season 13, so fingers crossed we don't have to hear any "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing." Let's get right to it, shall we?

1. Sam Woolf, "Come Together," "Across the Universe"

Nice how the Beatles' catalog was made into a movie, right? Handy for moments like this. Anyway, we love this choice by Sam. He's a good singer, but he's been so blah on the show thus far. This is actually letting him show a little grit and growl. It's still a sliding scale -- he's not Caleb Johnson -- but for Sam, this is positively edgy. He could've gone much, much further with it and not been quite so Broadway at moments, but we'll take what we can get. Baby steps.

2. Jessica Meuse, "The Sound of Silence," "The Graduate"

Love the choice. I barely typed a word for the first half of the song because I was so engrossed.

Emily S. Whitten: Spidey and Bats’ Infinite Playlist

  • Comicmix
“I can’t believe I agreed to this,” Bruce muttered, as he locked the front door of Wayne Manor.

“Hey, Bats!” a cheerful voice exclaimed from behind. Bruce turned.

“Peter,” he grumbled at the young man standing in the driveway. “I told you not to call me that when I’m out of the suit.”

“Sorry, Bats! Forgot,” Peter Parker replied merrily.

Bruce groaned inwardly. Here we go again, he thought. “Peter, what are you doing here?” he asked.

“I came to keep you company on the drive!” said Peter. “Plus, you know… Alfred thought if I didn’t, you might not come.”

“So… you came all the way out here just to turn around and go right back?” Bruce said wryly, walking to the car.

“Well, you know, it’s quick when you’re swinging through the air with the greatest of ease.” Peter grinned. “And Aunt May also

Review: Super Themes Soundtrack

Compilation albums are great fun, aren’t they? I’ve talked at some length before about them, and how they can be hit or miss with their intended audiences. Silva Screen Records’ latest offering – Super Themes – is no different, but it does contain a lot of really great tunes that the cult fan will appreciate having in their collection. While there are some moments where you just want to know what the criteria was in order to be picked, some are really spot-on.

The two-disk set is chock full of goodies spanning the last 40-plus years of superhero television and movies, and much of it is great. From the swinging sixties we have jazz composer Neal Hefti’s surf guitar theme for Batman, which is one of those guilty pleasures every geek can enjoy. In fact, this rounds out the first seven tracks of the album, all of which are

Former Remy Zero Drummer Gregory Slay Dies After Long Fight With Cystic Fibrosis

Last week saw the tragic death of much-beloved Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, and on New Year's Day, the music world lost another great skinsman. Gregory Slay, who was known best for playing the drums in underrated turn-of-the-century alt-rock band Remy Zero, passed away on Friday (January 1) after a lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis (a hereditary disease that leads to complications in the lungs). Slay was 40 years old.

Remy Zero was founded in Birmingham, Alabama in 1990. They caught their first break when Radiohead — who at the time were not the cultural touchstone they became after the release of Ok Computer — heard their demo tape and invited them to open for them while they toured the U.S. for The Bends. That got them attention from Geffen Records, who signed them and released their self-titled debut album in 1996. It's a twitchy, pyched-out, druggy debut that is best summed up

Alyssa Milano Got Hitched to Fiance David Bugliari

Alyssa Milano and her fiance David Bugliari are now officially husband and wife. The pair, who has been engaged since last year, tied the knot in a ceremony which was held at the groom's family's estate in New Jersey on Saturday, August 15, a representative for the actress confirmed to People.

Having nature and family as themes, Milano was said donning a custom gown designed by Vera Wang and holding a bouquet of lily of the valley flowers. She walked down the aisle, which was strewn with cream-colored rose petals and natural grass, to John Lennon's iconic song "Imagine."

Milano and Bugliari exchanged vows under a wrought-iron gazebo decorated with willow, calla lilies and roses. Actor Bradley Cooper, who is a friend of the groom, was seen attending the nuptials.

Once the ceremony was completed, guests were directed to the cocktail area which was decorated with rattan furniture and hay bales serving as cocktail tables.

Getting to Know... O+S

After dreamy Nebraska duo Azure Ray disbanded in 2004, Orenda Fink (who made up one-half of the duo, along with Maria Taylor) has kept busy, releasing one solo album (2005's Invisible Ones) and another with side-project Art in Manila (2007's Set the Wood on Fire). Most recently, she formed the duo O+S with longtime friend Scalpelist (née Remy Zero bassist Cedric Lemoyne). The new duo's self-titled debut, released in March on Saddle Creek, is a deeply textured sonic collage of gauzy harmonies, field recordings and moody instrumentation. The ethereally-voiced Fink recently took some time to chat with Paste about O+S and the new music's inspirations and influences.
