White Famous” is loosely based on the career of Jamie Foxx, but it might also apply to the path taken by its star, Jay Pharoah. Pharoah, who was lauded as a superstar in the making when he joined “Saturday Night Live” in 2010, was instead surprisingly cut from the show in 2016.

Pharoah is known for his spot-on impersonations of celebrities like Jay-z and Denzel Washington. Showtime has announced the premiere dates for Season 8 of “Shameless” and its new comedies “White Famous” and “SMILF.”

The L Word is getting the R Word.

Showtime is developing a revival of its seminal lesbian-themed drama series, which ran on the premium cabler from 2004 to 2009, TVLine has confirmed. Three of the original series’ stars Jennifer BealsKate Moennig and Leisha Hailey are expected to reprise their respective roles as Bette, Shane and Alice as well as serve as exec producers.

Per Deadline, the trio would be “surrounded by a new ensemble of women, with the sequel following their lives, loves and tribulations.”
