Episode Recap: CSI: NY - 1.15: "Til Death Do We Part"

9 December 2011 2:02 PM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

In Story 1, a bride dies at her wedding after dead doves fall to the floor. Mac (Gary Sinise) asks if anyone is superstitious here as it's bad luck for birds to fly indoors. Mac: "It could happen to you, you know." Danny: "What marriage?" Mac: "Love." Danny: "Don't even say stuff like that Mac, it's not even funny." Well someone found it funny and appealing since Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) did find love and marriage, but sadly most of us thought with the wrong woman. Mac notices redness in her eye, caused by external injuries or allergies. She has a slight redness on her skin and Mac thinks she's displaying symptoms of chemical exposure. Mac: "Two dead doves, one dead bride, looks like foul play to me." Ahh so bad you'd think Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) thought of it! Det Kylie Macca (Kelly Hu) returns to investigate the case and has a comment to make, »

Film Review: Inconsistent ‘Do Not Disturb’ Features Revolving Door of Quality

26 May 2011 2:40 PM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Rating: 3.0/5.0

Chicago – The beautiful Mali Elfman, daughter of the great composer Danny Elfman, has written and produced (and co-stars in) a unique piece of work called “Do Not Disturb,” a collection of interconnected short films that chronicles the bizarre happenings in a Los Angeles hotel room and is now available On Demand. What goes on behind closed doors? If the walls of even one room could talk, the stories they would tell would be great fodder for filmmaking. “Do Not Disturb” is too inconsistent to recommend completely but features a few interesting elements and bodes well for a promising filmmaker.

Not unlike “Four Rooms,” “Do Not Disturb” links together a series of short films through one hotel worker, an unnamed maid effectively played by Diva Zappa (the youngest daughter of the legendary Frank). The five vignettes are directed by different filmmakers, including Eric Balfour (an actor well-known for his work »

Eric Balfour Exclusive Interview Do Not Disturb

19 May 2011 6:30 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

In the independent feature Do Not Disturb, five directors took on five short stories, all tied together in one dark, humorous film about what goes on behind the door of hotel room 316, and the maid who connects all of the stories together. Actor Eric Balfour, who appears in the segment entitled “Rocketman” opposite True Blood star Lindsay Pulsipher, makes his feature directorial debut with the film’s first segment, “Duccio’s Madonna,” a dark drama about a lonely man (Harris Goldberg) that pushes a hooker (Maureen Flannigan) too far, only to find an eager maid (Diva Zappa) happy to help him finish the job. With little time for preparation, each director was given a brief synopsis and one day on set to tell their story, all of which was overseen by producer Mali Elfman (who also appears in two of the film’s segments), giving it a truly collaborative feel. »

25 February 2011 10:47 AM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Even though she has a friend with some of the most amazing fans in the world,  Thia Megia’s phenomenal talent alone will carry her through the competition, say the American Idol vocal coaches!

We’ve only reached the American Idol Top 24, but two of the hit reality show’s vocal coaches predict Thia Megia will go far in the competition. Not only does she have the support of her friend Charice’s fans around the world, she’s one of the best talents they’ve seen!

“The kid is amazing. She’s 15. She’s so beyond her years musically, it’s insane,” Michael Orland raved about the pint-size belter from Mountain House, Calif. to HollywoodLife.com at the Idol Prom in Hollywood Feb. 24.

He added, “This is the first year we’ve had 15-year-olds on the show — I’d like to see her do well because of that.”

Selma Blair and Jason Bleick, fashion designer, expecting a baby

14 January 2011 6:26 AM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Actress Selma Blair and her fashion designer boyfriend Jason Bleick are joining the recent rash of Hollywood pregnancies, reports Us Weekly.

The 38-year-old star of "Cruel Intentions" and "Legally Blonde" was previously married to Ahmet Zappa from 2004 until 2006, but has no children. Ahmet is the brother to Dweezil, Moon Unit and Diva Zappa, all the children of legendary musican Frank Zappa.

But she has moved on to Bleick, a rather eccentric fashion designer who lived in a teepee in 2009. Bleick is the founder of Ever, a fashion-forward, travel-inspired clothing line that uses high quality fabrics to create clothes for the comfort-seeking traveler.

He told Coast Magazine of his teepee: "I moved to Hollywood about six years ago, right after I started Ever. I have a great house in the Hollywood hills that looks over the entire city. But I wanted to get back to the beach and live very minimally. »
