22 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The CW has revealed the synopsis for the Kevin Smith-directed fifth episode of Supergirl season three, entitled ‘Damage’; take a look below…

Morgan Edge Sets His Sights On Lena — When multiple children get sick from lead poisoning, Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) points the finger at Lena (Katie McGrath) and blames her creation of the lead bomb she made to save National City from the Daxamites. While Lena knows she never intended any harm, she fears there may have been a flaw in her design, leaving her responsible. Kara (Melissa Benoist) teams up with Samantha (Odette Annable) to clear Lena’s name, but it turns out to be harder than they thought. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) make a crucial decision about the future of their relationship.

Guest Stars Abound In Supergirl And The Flash’s Week 5 Synopses

19 October 2017 9:54 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Though the summer hiatus felt like an eternity, we can now breathe easier with the fall season of DC TV being back in full swing. Not only that, but synopses for episodes set to air during week 5 have now surfaced online, including those for Supergirl and The Flash.

First, on Monday, November 6, corrupt businessman Morgan Edge will once again prove to be a thorn in the side of Supergirl and her cohorts. This time, he’s causing headaches for Lena Luthor by saying that she’s responsible of a string of lead poisonings in National City. If you’ll recall, her involvement in taking down the Daxamite invasion in last spring’s finale by building the lead bomb was crucial, but it sounds like he’ll sow enough doubt in Lena to make her second guess those valiant efforts.

Meet Samantha.  Samantha is going to be your next Supergirl big bad. Only thing is Samantha doesn't know it yet. Fans of the CW superhero series got their first taste of Sam (played by new series regular Odette Annable) in the season three premiere, when she and her daughter Ruby (Emma Tremblay) attended the disastrous dedication of the new Supergirl statue in National City. After Edge's attack on the waterfront left Ruby underneath a massive steel beam, we got a hint of Sam's true nature when, in her total panic, she lifted the beam right off her daughter. And as this sneak peek of the new episode, exclusive to E! News, proves, Ruby's looking for some answers. "Did anybody help you »

Reign And Black Siren Impact Supergirl And Arrow During Halloween Week

13 October 2017 9:55 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

After being forced to endure the long summer hiatus, we can now rest easy as each of our favorite DC shows have finally returned with a round of spectacular premieres. And now that the fall season is in full swing, we continue looking ahead, this time at episodes of Supergirl and Arrow set to air during Halloween week.

First, on Monday, October 30, Supergirl begins charting what’ll be surely be a strange journey for Odette Annable’s character of Samantha. Casually introduced to us in the season 3 premiere, we know that the seemingly average woman will go on to become Reign, this year’s big bad. Truth be told, the unassuming villain is something we’ve yet to see from this series, so we could have some great television ahead of us.

Continuing on that note, we also can’t help but draw parallels to Smallville‘s Davis Bloome, who was played by Sam Witwer. »

Supergirl Season 3 Premiere Recap: 'Kara Danvers Sucks Right Now!'

9 October 2017 6:00 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

The Girl of Steel was feeling pretty down on herself atop Monday’s Supergirl premiere, with only daydreams of Mon-El and her mother — literally underscored by a song called “Daydreaming” — as an escape from her heartache and guilt. And no amount of tough love from Alex (“Your pity party has gone uninterrupted!”) or desperate pleas from Lena (“I miss you!”) could snap Kara out of her super-funk.

Supergirl Season 3 Review

9 October 2017 8:46 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

One episode was provided prior to broadcast.

Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer may recall season 2 premiere “When She Was Bad,” in which our hero sports a particularly bad attitude as she processes the traumatic events of the previous season’s finale. Given the near-destruction of National City in season 2 of Supergirl and the ultimate exile from Earth imposed on Mon-El (Chris Wood), Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) is understandably in a similarly troubling place. It’s quite a change of pace for the bright-eyed Girl of Steel to suddenly find herself at such an emotional crossroads, but that’s precisely where season 3 of The CW series begins.

Much like Arrowverse sister series The Flash, Supergirl received some flack last year for going a bit too dark with its storytelling, despite the introduction of Tyler Hoechlin as a hopeful vision of Superman. So, it’s telling that the showrunners here are »

The Truth About Lies Trailer Is Indie Relationship Gold

2 October 2017 10:30 AM, PDT | | See recent AreYouScreening news »

Indie movies seem to have a lot more heart these days, and when it comes to romantic comedies they generally have a lot more to say. Neither may actually be the case with The Truth About Lies, but the trailer makes it seem like a film that wants to explore serious ground within the comedic structure, and that’s a lot more rare than you might think.

Gilby Smalls (Fran Kranz) has just been fired and he lost his girlfriend in the most millennial way possible. Nothing is going right for him, so when he meets a beautiful woman he’s more than the normal amount of desperate to impress. It turns into a whirlwind of stacking lies on top of each other, and he’s soon in too deep. Hilarity, one must assume, ensues, and Gilby has to ask who he’s really keeping from the truth about his life. »

Betty Buckley joins Supergirl as Reign’s mother

30 September 2017 4:37 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

TV Insider is reporting that Tony Award-winning actress Betty Buckley (Pretty Little Liars, The Leftovers, Split) has signed on for a guest role in the upcoming third season of The CW’s DC superhero show Supergirl.

Buckley is set to play Patricia Arias, the adoptive mother of Odette Annable’s Reign. According to the site, “the Arias women have been estranged since Sam became a teen mom andtheir relationship is made all the more complex by the secrets Patricia holds.”

Given that Reign is a biological weapon created by by Kara’s father Zor-El on Krypton, we can probably safely assume the secrets that Patricia holds relate to Reign’s extraterrestrial origin.

First Trailer for Quirky Romantic Comedy Film 'The Truth About Lies'

29 September 2017 6:00 AM, PDT | | See recent news »

"So you lied to me about everything?" Blue Fox Entertainment has debuted the first official trailer for an indie romantic comedy titled The Truth About Lies, made by writer/director Phil Allocco. This quirky comedy is about a guy who starts coming up with a series of lies in order to impress a girl. Fairly simple premise. Fran Kranz stars and Gilby Smalls, and the girl he falls for is played by Odette Annable, who you'll recognize from Cloverfield or The Unborn. The cast includes Colleen Camp, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Chris Diamantopoulos, Oakes Fegley, and Laura Kightlinger. This doesn't look that unique, almost like every other quirky indie romantic comedy. And I'm pretty sure he's going to get the girl in the end, too. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Phil Allocco's The Truth About Lies, direct from YouTube: In The Truth About Lies, Gilby Smalls (Fran Kranz) is having a meltdown. »

Supergirl Returns In New Season 3 Promo Images

25 September 2017 6:00 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Supergirl season 3 looks to be the most dramatic run of the show yet. In the wake of losing Mon-El at the end of season 2, Kara Zor-El will be in a dark place which leads her to ditching her everyday Kara Danvers persona and focusing on her life as Supergirl. Which is probably for the best, too, as new dangers are heading to National City this season – some of which can be glimpsed in these new promo images (below) from the upcoming season premiere, “Girl of Steel.”

The photos reveal that the episode will feature some kind of Supergirl Celebration Day hosted by Lena Luthor. However, it looks like things go awry, as Kara and Martian Manhunter are pictured standing in the middle of a scared-looking crowd. Kara’s sister Alex and her fiancee Maggie Sawyer are also caught up in the chaos. As is a new important face in Supergirl’s world… »

‘Supergirl’ Casts Saturn Girl for Season 3

Saturn Girl is headed to National City for “Supergirl” Season 3.

Amy Jackson will play the latest hero headed to Earth. The role marks the U.S. debut of the Bollywood actress, who started her career as a model. This won’t be the first time Saturn Girl has appeared in a live-action DC series. Alexz Johnson played the character during the eighth season of “Smallville.”

Saturn Girl, a.k.a. Imra Ardeen, is a kind, strong-willed hero who uses her telekinetic powers to help those in need. She was born on Titan, one of Saturn’s moons, and arrives on Earth just in time to help Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) face one of her biggest threats.

The hero’s first appearance in a DC comic was in 1958’s “Adventure Comics” #247. In the comics, Saturn Girl is one of the founding members of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th and 31st centuries. She »
