How David Letterman Dealt with Sex Scandal and Blackmail According to a New Book: ‘I’m in Hell’
David Letterman was swamped in scandal in 2009, when CBS News producer Robert “Joe” Halderman attempted to blackmail him after coming across a diary that proved Letterman had been having an affair with his assistant, Stephanie Birkitt.

Now a new biography, Letterman: The Last Giant of Late Night by New York Times reporter Jason Zinoman obtained by People, reveals what was known by the Late Night host’s inner circle, and how the scandal sent him into a deep depression.

” ‘I’m in hell. I will always be in hell until the day after, when I will go to hell,’ ” Letterman

Newswire: Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell are making a musical about musicals

Awards season just started, but considering that La La Land is already grabbing tons of little statues and plaques, it seems like the movie industry could be readying itself for a musical renaissance of sorts. Granted, superhero movies will probably have to die out before that ever happens, but the public clearly has a taste for people singing about doing things. According to Deadline, Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig are going to take advantage of that with a new musical based on the book Everything’s Coming Up Profits: The Golden Age Of Industrial Musicals, with Smash and Hairspray writers Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman putting together the score.

The book was written by Steve Young and Mike Murphy, and it’s about how companies used to enlist Broadway performers to put on shows with names like Diesel Dazzle and The Bathrooms Are Coming to educate and motivate employees. As

5 Years After Baby Lisa’s Disappearance, A Mother’s Plea: ‘I Just Want Her Back’
On Monday night People took a closer look at this case on People Magazine Investigates, which airs weekly on Investigation Discovery. Now learn more about the latest details with People’s digital coverage

It’s an anniversary that no one — certainly no parent — would ever wish to see.

Five years after reporting their 10-month-old daughter, Lisa Irwin, missing from her crib in their home in Kansas City, Missouri, Jeremy Irwin and Deborah Bradley say they are no closer to knowing what happened or reuniting their family.

“I don’t want to look at her through pictures anymore,” Deborah tells People in this week’s issue,

Inside Baby Lisa’s Family: Keeping Hope Alive 5 Years After Her Mysterious Disappearance
Lisa Irwin‘s memory is still ever-present in the north Kansas City, Missouri, home from which she disappeared more than five years ago as a 10-month-old toddler.

This past Halloween her mom, Deborah Bradley, bought Lisa an Elsa costume from the Disney movie Frozen. For Lisa’s last birthday — she would have turned 6 on Nov. 11 — Deborah and Lisa’s father, Jeremy Irwin, planned to buy her a necklace bearing Lisa’s topaz birthstone.

Those presents testify to the parents’ unshakable belief that their daughter was abducted but survives and is waiting to be found and reunited with her family. Indeed,

Gone Without a Trace: Will Baby Lisa’s Abductor Be Caught?
For more than five years, the parents of missing Lisa Irwin — who disappeared in October 2011 from her crib just a few weeks shy of her first birthday — have insisted she was taken from their home in Kansas City, Missouri.

Police don’t know what to believe, or who might be to blame.

“It’s hard to say that somebody isn’t a suspect when you don’t have any,” Kansas City police Maj. Steve Young tells People in this week’s issue, on newsstands now. “But truly, there isn’t anybody that is or isn’t.”

The unsolved mystery began the night of Oct.

Gone Without a Trace: Have You Seen Baby Lisa Irwin?
Parents Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin have had to watch their little girl grow up through another’s eyes.

That’s because the only picture they have to show how their daughter, Lisa, might look today — five years after the 10-month-old disappeared from her family’s home in north Kansas City, Missouri — was generated by computer.

The age-progressed image of Lisa released earlier this year by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children “looks so much like Jeremy and me at the same time, it’s amazing,” Deborah tells People about her daughter, who would turn 6 on Nov. 11.

Review: 'The Americans' - 'One Day in the Life of Anton Baklanov': Honey, trap

Review: 'The Americans' - 'One Day in the Life of Anton Baklanov': Honey, trap
A review of tonight's "The Americans" coming up just as soon as I look into the tip of your nose... "You forget what it's like to have your own life." -Nina The title "One Day in the Life of Anton Baklanov" suggests an episode spent entirely in the Russian lab with Anton, Nina, and the disapproving matron. Instead, that's just one part of a busy hour. Yet the title doesn't feel inaccurate, because for this week, everyone is Anton Baklanov: trapped in situations they didn't ask for, and that there seems no hope of escaping from back to the life they thought they were living. Anton's prison is the most overt, because he was literally taken against his will (even Nina confessed to Arkady, knowing the gulag was a potential result), but Paige, Martha and even Philip and Elizabeth all find themselves living lives not their own, where they have

Brett Favre was the third choice for his 'There's Something About Mary' cameo

Brett Favre was the third choice for his 'There's Something About Mary' cameo
Though Brett Favre's film career begins and ends with his cameo in There's Something About Mary, he almost never even had that role. The film's directors, the Farrelly Brothers, appeared on the Rich Eisen Show earlier this week to discuss Favre's cameo, and how they actually approached two other football players before landing on the quarterback. Their first choice? New England Patriot Drew Bledsoe, but, as Peter Farrelly told Eisen, there was a small issue that prevented his appearance. "He was a single guy, went out with his pals, they went to a club, he dove into a mosh

Tim Tebow brought football, faith and food to Friday's Good Morning America. The former NFL star, who's now an analyst with Espn, was initially brought out to talk about the Super Bowl alongside 49ers great Steve Young. Tebow shared his thoughts about the importance of leadership on each team, whether quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson will be able to handle the cold weather and what the game will come down to, which, in his opinion, will be how well the Broncos' front seven stops the Seahawks' running game. “Queer Eye”‘s Fab Five Reunites and “Glee”‘s End Isn’t Certain

News

Ryan Murphy may have said that he’s still planning to end Glee next season, but Fox told E! news that kind of talk is premature. While season six was ordered as a potential final season, the network still wants to hold onto the possibility of continuing the drama into the seventh season.

The Good Wife has made more casting announcements and, as always with this show, the news is amazing. Victor Garber is set to appear as a judge whose compulsive orderliness is disrupted by a chaotic double jury trial. Hunter Parrish will play a client fighting DNA evidence against him.

Hunter Parrish

Which TV pilot has cast a big star for its lead, but can’t announce it because people will figure out the star’s current character is about to be killed off?

Yeah, as much as I like New Girl Nick and Jess‘ relationship is straining the show.

After Adrian’s two-year-old son tragically passed away on Oct. 11, over 125 people from his hometown held an emotional vigil in which they remembered the boy who was full of life, and who lit up every room he was in.

The town of Sioux Falls, South Dakota is reeling after Adrian Peterson’s son, who lived there, died on Oct. 11 after being brutally assaulted. Just hours after the toddler gave his last breath, some of the people who knew him best gathered at a town park to honor and remember him during a heart-wrenching vigil.

Town Holds Touching Vigil For Adrian Peterson’s Son

“I can’t believe this is happening,” Jennifer Miklos, who watched the boy who she called Ty in a day care, told the Argus Leader.
