Cinemax’s Banshee is proving just how serious it is by taking a known Disney Channel star and turning her into a party girl with a penchant for sexual deviancy. Lili Simmons, known for Geek Charming and Zeke and Luther, is joining the cast of Banshee, which so far includes the likes of Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Rus Blackwell, Ulrich ThomsenMatt Servitto, Trieste Dunn, Daniel Ross Owens, and Hoon Lee. All together they will be bringing to life a story written by authors Jonathon Hopper and David Schickler and executive produced by True Blood’s Alan Ball and House’s Greg Yaitanes.

According to TVLine, Simmons, with all her Disney Channel innocence, will be taking on the considerably more adult role of Rebecca Bowman. Rebecca will be a series regular and will have the delightful job of being Banshee’s go to sexy girl. By day she is a »

Cinemax Banshee Cast Grows

26 March 2012 5:53 PM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

It’s beginning to seem like Cinemax’s Banshee will never cease finding new actors and actresses to join its ever-expanding cast. The series, coming from True Blood’s Alan Ball and House’s Greg Yaitanes, has hired yet another relatively unknown actor to be a part of what will hopefully turn out to be the newest must-watch TV show. I foresee Banshee as being the series that will launch a number of careers, including that of our new cast member, Rus Blackwell.

Banshee, which comes from scribes Jonathon Tropper and David Schickler, will focus on Lucas (Antony Starr), an ex-con and master thief who takes on the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Penn. He uses his new cover to continue his criminal activities, all while he is pursued by gangsters. According to TVline, Blackwell will be paying Gordon, who is Banshee’s Da and is currently married to Lucas’ old flame, »

True Blood Boss Lands Ulrich Thomsen for Showtime’s Banshee

16 March 2012 12:51 PM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

True Blood creator Alan Ball has been working hard to bring his latest series, Banshee, to Cinemax and part of that process involves finding the best actors for the various roles. The latest actor to be brought on to the series is Danish actor Ulrich Thomsen. The project is written by Jonathon Tropper and David Schickler and is one of the few projects with Ball’s name attached to it that has me interested.

According to TVLine, Thomsen will be playing a local, wealthy businessman in Basnhee, Penn, who uses his natural intimidating aura to do whatever he wants, believing he’s above the law. Banshee will star Antony Starr as an ex-convict and master thief who flees to Banshee and assumes the identity of the towns sheriff, using his newfound authority to continue his criminal activities unchecked. Unfortunately, his past is catching up to him as a group of gangsters hunt him down. »

‘House’ To End After Season 8; ‘Amazing’ Series Finale Promised

10 February 2012 7:28 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

After 8 years on the air, the time has finally come for Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital to close its doors for good, as House creator David Shore, producer Katie Jacobs, and star Hugh Laurie jointly announced that Fox’s ground-breaking medical drama will come to an end after this season.

But fear not, as executive producer Greg Yaitanes revealed via Twitter that an “amazing series finale” (written and directed by Shore) is awaiting fans when the series takes its final bow on May 21st.

Releasing a statement that certainly acknowledges the love that everyone at House has for their fans, Shore, Jacobs, and Laurie further explain their decision to finally bring House to a close:

After much deliberation, the producers of House M.D. have decided that this season of the show, the 8th, should be the ...

'House': If it's 'Nobody's Fault,' then who's responsible for Chase?

6 February 2012 8:04 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

"House" broke some from its usual form Monday (Feb. 6) with an episode that introduced a formidable (and presumably one-time) adversary for House and examined what happens whether his way of doing things leads to good results or chaos.

The answer? Both. So if "Nobody's Fault" didn't really tell us anything we don't already know about Greg House and brand of mind games, it at least gave us a very well-acted, expertly directed (by exec producer Greg Yaitanes, helming his 30th episode of the series) examination of the question.

(Spoilers below.)

Oh, and it also left Chase -- the last original member of House's team working under him -- struggling to regain use of his legs after a patient's case goes about as wrong as it can possibly go without resulting in death.

As the disciplinary inquiry went on and we saw a couple rounds of questions from Dr. Walter Cofield (Jeffrey Wright, »

'House' Ep Greg Yaitanes on tonight's episode, Chase's future, and leaving the show to work on the new Alan Ball series

6 February 2012 7:35 PM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

After getting a chance to check out tonight’s major episode of House a bit early, I knew we’d all be filled with questions and thoughts on the exceptional hour. Thankfully, executive producer and episode director Greg Yaitanes was ready and willing to chat with EW.

To recap, the episode found House and his team under the scrutiny of Jeffrey Wright’s Dr. Walter Cofield, an old mentor of Foreman’s (Omar Epps) who came to Princeton-Plainsboro to determine whether House was at fault for an incident that resulted in Chase (Jesse Spencer) being gravely injured. The episode, says Yaitanes, »

House Preview: Jeffrey Wright Talks 'Challenging' Role and Going Toe-to-Toe with Hugh Laurie

6 February 2012 6:04 AM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

Jeffrey Wright doesn’t frequent the small screen often — his Emmy-winning work in HBO’s Angels in American was a rare exception — so his casting in tonight’s House (Fox, 8/7c) made the episode, in an instant, very special.

And the hour was already generating buzz, given its storyline (House’s controversial diagnostic process gets put under the microscope like never before) and its pedigree (it marks longtime House exec producer Greg Yaitanes’ final directorial effort on the show).

Bottom line: It’s a big episode, and in the following Q&A, Wright — who plays Dr. Cofield (a.k.a. »

House on Trial: How Will Jeffrey Wright Rule?

5 February 2012 4:43 PM, PST | TVGuide.com - Features | See recent TVGuide - Features news »

Monday's pivotal episode of House shines a light on perhaps the most crucial question of the series: Do Dr. House's life-preserving ends justify his usually outlandish means?

House First Look: Jeffrey Wright puts Dr. House on trial!

For nearly eight seasons, Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) has been able to pull almost any stunt he pleased at Princeton-Plainsboro, simply because he's a brilliant diagnostician who saves lives. But in Monday's episode (8/7c, Fox), House's methods end in a catastrophe that threatens one of his team member's future at the hospital. Enter Dr. Walter Cofield (guest star Jeffrey Wright), the head of neurology at a nearby hospital and a former mentor to Dr. Foreman (Omar Epps) — and the man who will determine whether House or his team is to blame for the accident.

Alan Ball Lines Up New Show, Also A Second One

28 January 2012 3:17 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Alan Ball, creator of Six Feet Under and writer of American Beauty, is working on a new drama for Cinemax, which seems to revolve around his favourite themes: death and convoluted plots. Apparently, Banshee tells the story of a martial arts-practising criminal who pretends to be a murdered sheriff in order to stop crime, or something. The pilot will be directed by Greg Yaitanes, who has credits on Heroes, Damages and just about any other American drama you can think of (except the really good ones, like Deadwood or that lot). Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler have written the pilot, which should be shooting soon in North Carolina.

Ball’s current TV project, HBO’s vampire hit True Blood, completed its fourth season a few months back, with a fifth still to come. Ball has made clear his intentions to work on his current series as well as developing Banshee. »
