George Wyner was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated from Syracuse University as a drama major in 1968. He started working in TV and film in 1972 and has worked extensively ever since. His most recognizable TV work was as A.D.A. Irwin Bernstein in "Hill Street Blues" (1981) from 1982 to 1989, and as Roy Cohn in Tail Gunner Joe (1977) (TV) in 1977. To date, Wyner has been a regular on nine TV series and has guest starred on over 100 shows. His most recognizable film work includes Col. Sandurz in Spaceballs (1987) and as Fletch's ex-wife's divorce lawyer in Fletch (1985) and Fletch Lives (1989).
