Mini Biography

Steve Wright is a senior digital effects veteran with 20 years experience creating digital effects for feature films and broadcast commercials. As a digital effects compositor, he has over 60 feature film credits plus numerous broadcast commercials and has published two popular books on digital compositing both available on Amazon called, "Digital Compositing for Film and Video" and "Compositing Visual Effects: Essentials for the Aspiring Artist" both Focal Press imprints.

He teaches workshops and online VFX compositing technique classes as well as Nuke and Shake classes both domestically and worldwide training the next generation of artists in the art and science of digital VFX compositing. He is one of Nuke's top trainers and his listing can be found on The Foundry's training page.

Steve started his career in digital entertainment at Atari designing video games where he also produced the video game animation sequence for Superman III. He joined Robert Abel and Associates, one of the founders of CGI in Hollywood, then had his own digital effects studio called Sidley Wright & Associates in Hollywood for seven years. Steve joined Cinesite as a senior compositor and was promoted to the 2D Technical Director for visual effects and Digital Intermediate.

After leaving Cinesite, Steve began doing visual effects production and feature film titling work under his own banners, Steve Wright Digital FX and TitleWright. In addition to doing shots and titling, Steve has several more books about various aspects of digital imagery currently in the works and is now giving back 20 years of production experience through his visual effects compositing technique, Nuke and Shake training workshops and online classes, DVDs and books.
