Lawrence Wright (I) (1888–1964)

Prolific British songwriter and music publisher. He opened a market stall in Leicester selling sheet music in 1906, then in 1911 became the first music publisher to open an office in London's Denmark Street ("Tin Pan Alley"). As well as songs, he published "The Wright Pianoforte Tutor" which sold a quarter of a million copies.
