‘Wrath of the Titans’ starring Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson – trailer review

30 December 2011 9:00 AM, PST | The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news »

Wrath of the Titans

Directed by: Jonathan Liebesman

Starring: Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes

Rating: Not Yet Rated

Release Date: May 30, 2012

Trailer Score: 6/10

Thoughts by Tsr: Boy, the marketing people for these films are really outdoing themselves. I’ll never figure out how they came up with something as imaginative as “Titans Will Clash” as the tagline for Clash of the Titans, and now they’ve went above and beyond with “Feel The Wrath.”

Okay, maybe I’m being hard on them. And yes, I realize that is a relatively minor thing to be picking on. To be perfectly honest, other than a terrible version of “Sweet Dreams” and a general music video-esque feel to how the trailer is put together, I think what’s here is decent. Granted, I didn’t hate the trailer for Clash of the Titans either, but a tolerable trailer is as good a place as any to begin. »

After debuting as a low-res magazine scan earlier this month, here’s a new hi-res look at Sam Worthington as Perseus in Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to the 2009 movie Clash of the Titans which, despite a critical mauling, still took a billion dollars at the worldwide box office. The sequel, which also stars Toby Kebbell, Rosamund Pike, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson, Danny Huston, Edgar Ramirez and Bill Nighy, is released in the UK on 30th March 2012.

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, »

'Wrath of the Titans' Trailer – The Titans Are Back, and They're Pissed

27 December 2011 8:31 AM, PST | Planet Fury | See recent Planet Fury news »

We're still catching up on all that the recent bout of holiday madness caused us to miss. Speaking of which, did you know there was a Wrath of the Titans trailer? Because there is.

Wrath of the Titans is the sequel to Clash of the Titans, which was the remake of Clash of the Titans…wait, is that…yeah. That's right. It seems the Titans are getting fed up with their forced vacation in the Underworld — apparently it's not as nice as the brochures make it seem — and they'd very much like to return to their comfy Greek villas if that's okay.

Naturally, it's not okay with their children, the Gods, who are enjoying some freedom. The Gods are busy doing the things kids do when their parents are out of town, like sneaking out the car and singing Bob Seger songs in their underwear.

So, to ensure the Titans »

New hair and new monsters in first trailer for Wrath of The Titans

21 December 2011 12:41 PM, PST | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

Sam Worthington leaps back into action - with a longer hairdo rather than his Clash crewcut - in the first trailer for Warner Bros sequel Wrath of the Titans.

The trailer is embedded below, and some new posters for the movie are also featured here.

This time, Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) is in the director's chair and there's a fresh menagerie of mythical beasts roaring and thrashing to the sound of Marilyn Manson's Sweet Dreams.

The monsters include a club-wielding cyclops and - according to one of the posters - the Minotaur, Chimera, Makhai and Titans' leader Kronos.

The good thing is that we may well be seeing some Titans this time. Perhaps not so good is that, like the first film, it's been given a 3D conversion rather than being shot in that format from the start.

The dialogue isn't up to much and the assault of »

The Wrath Of The Titans Trailer Arrives

20 December 2011 6:48 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

What with yesterdays official release of The Dark Knight Rises trailer and that of The Hobbit coming very soon, one can’t help but feel sorry for The Wrath Of The Titans trailer, which seems to have been lost in the hype. This is a shame, particularly as it looks like a lot of swords, sandles and CG silliness. Regarding the plot, think the last fifteen minutes of Disney’s Hercules and you’re there.

Sam Worthington, Ralph Feinnes and Liam Neeson all reprise their roles from the previous Clash and are now joined by a badass looking Rosamund Pike.

And for the wrestling fans among you, I Swear someone does a suplex at 1.43!

Wrath Of The Titans is released in March 2012.
