‘Love Connection’ Renewed by Fox for Season 2
Looks like Cupid’s arrow caught Fox co-CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman — no, not in that way. Fox has renewed “Love Connection” for a second season, when Andy Cohen will return as host and co-executive producer. The revival of the former Chuck Woolery-hosted show sends hopeful singles on three dates in order to ditch the apps and find true love. Though there’s probably still a heart emoji involved in this whole old-school approach to modern-day dating. “Andy Cohen is a phenomenal host, not only because he has brought so much fun to the show but also because he truly wants these participants.

'Love Connection' Contestant Has Surprising, Decades-Long History With the Show
It's a second-generation Love Connection!

On Thursday night's episode of Love Connection, hosted by Andy Cohen, a young woman looking for love has a special surprise: Kenedi Smith's parents met on the original Love Connection, hosted by Chuck Woolery, back in 1992. Their meeting resulted in a "fairytale romance" and a marriage of 23 years!

Now the question is, can Kenedi find a relationship like the one her parents forged, and in the same way they did? Her mom and dad will even be in the audience.

The 22-year-old lives in California and says she was "little" when she first saw her parents' episode. "I always said, 'I want that!' I want to find love," she says. "It's hysterical, because now I actually get the chance!"

Fox Heats Up Summer With ‘Love Connection’ Revival for Modern Daters With Host Andy Cohen

Fox Heats Up Summer With ‘Love Connection’ Revival for Modern Daters With Host Andy Cohen
It’s before noon on a weekday in late March, and Andy Cohen walks out onto a massive set with possibly the most dramatic entrance ever. “Here’s your host, Andy Cohen!” the voiceover shouts, as the TV personality is unveiled from giant bridge that lowers as he graces the lit-up stage.

Though the environment is familiar to Cohen with a live audience and a cushy couch for conversation with guests, this is not “Watch What Happens Live.” Rather, the Bravo personality is taping an episode of “Love Connection,” the revival of the dating game show, which premieres Thursday night on Fox.

Love Connection” shot over a period of about one week, bringing the New York-based Cohen to Los Angeles to do what he does best: prod into people’s personal lives.

Within minutes of introducing the second contestant — whom Cohen dubbed “buff Jesus,” thanks to his large stature and long mane of silky hair — the host

Love Connection Review: Andy Cohen Can't Save Fox's Awkward Reboot

Love Connection Review: Andy Cohen Can't Save Fox's Awkward Reboot
Being a loving connoisseur of ’80s cheese, my heart leapt at the news that Fox was rebooting the old-school dating show Love Connection. But alas, some things are better left in the past. The new reboot — debuting this Thursday at 9/8c — turns out to be the TV equivalent of a hot-pink leotard stuffed full of floppy disks.

The original Love Connection, hosted by Chuck Woolery, is a charming relic of the video-dating era, with singles choosing a date from three options and reporting back to Woolery how it went. It’s corny and hopelessly dated… but that’s part of the fun.

Tribeca 2017: Chuck

Jason Adams reporting from Tribeca...

Liev Schreiber as "Chuck"

If you just plunked the name “Chuck Wepner” down in front of me and asked me to say what it made me think of I’d say that “Chuck Wepner” sounds like an anagram of vintage TV Personalities – Chuck Woolery from The Love Connection meets Judge Wapner of The People’s Court. And while that might not be the truth so help me god there is a bit of Werner Herzog’s “ecstatic truth” to it – Chuck Wepner is one Vintage Personality...

Bill O’Reilly Fired: Celebrities Respond to Fox News Host’s Ouster

Celebrities took to Twitter to react to Bill O’Reilly getting fired by Fox News.

O’Reilly worked at the cable news network for 21 years and was considered one of the faces of the network. He was let go Wednesday afternoon in light of numerous sexual harassment allegations.

“After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the Company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel,” Fox News parent company 21st Century Fox said in a statement.

As host of “The O’Reilly Factor,” O’Reilly often made polarizing comments on race, religion, women, and other hot button topics.

Outspoken liberals like Cher and Rosie O’Donnell immediately drew correlations between O’Reilly and President Trump, who continues to face sexual harassment allegations, including a recent defamation lawsuit by a former “Apprentice” contestant.

Hollywood Reacts To Bill O’Reilly: Chelsea Handler Jeers, “Available For Dinner?”

Sorry, Bill-o, but the pinheads are getting the last laugh, at least for now. Hollywood isn’t exactly mourning the departure of Bill O’Reilly from Fox News. The cancellation of The O’Reilly Factor was — mostly — applauded by actors, pundits and other celebrities. But just to prove Hollywood isn’t entirely one-sided, check out the tweet from game show legend Chuck Woolery, who suspects that the right’s bete noire George Soros is behind it all. Fox is bringing back the classic dating show Love Connection this summer, and we get our first good look at the reboot (premiering Thursday, May 25) in the just-released preview above. We’re clearly a long way away from the ’80s Chuck Woolery-hosted original; the new Love Connection is filmed on a futuristic Who Wants to Be a Millionaire-esque set, with new host Cohen matching up singles using a giant video screen. ‘Love Connection’: First Look At Fox’s Andy Cohen-Hosted Dating Show Revival

The original Love Connection might have been, for better or worse, ahead of its time. When that Chuck Woolery-hosted show debuted in 1983, “reality television” as we knew it was defined by Real People and That’s Incredible! rather than, say, The Bachelor or Big Brother. Flash-forward to the Trump era, and Fox has revived the old date-and-tell format with a host who can’t possibly be shocked by anything today’s contestants might say: Real Housewives producer and Bravo host…

This 80’s New Zealand Dating Show is Comedic Genius

Dating shows have evolved quite a bit since the 60s and 70s. You had your “Newlywed Game” type shows back in the day. You had your “Love Connection” show with Chuck Woolery. That was a classic. Even Catfish could be considered a dating show if we’re going by technicalities. But in the in history of dating shows I think the “Dating Game” format was always the best. This is where
