Acclaimed New York-based verbal stylist, who has risen to the level of one of the foremost slam poets today. Holds a B.A. in philosophy and acting from Morehouse College, as well as a Masters in Acting from NYU.

Was a staple of NYC's Nuyorican Poets Cafe, where he honed his skill, drawing from old-school hip-hop and African griot-style storytelling. Has since also performed with progressive hip-hop acts like KRS-One and The Roots and punk rockers Rage Against The Machine.

[on 'Aujourd' hui'] This film gave me the level of challenge I really desired. It was just what I needed, headed where I was heading in my idea of performance, which was about ways of communicating without words. For me, words have never been the point. I use words as a tool to say what I feel must be said. But that which I'm trying to say is not only expressed through words, it's through dance and through making love and in so many other ways. So it brings certain kind of balance to work beyond language itself.
