When it rains, it feels like it’s pouring.”

This Is Us didn’t mess around in its fall finale, wrapping up the first half of its sophomore season with a whopper of a reveal at the end of the final installment of the Big Three trilogy. Titled “Number Three,” Tuesday’s episode explored Randall’s story in the past (Jack and Randall visit Howard University in Washington, D.C.) and the present (Beth and Randall agree to keep fostering after saying goodbye to Deja, with a hint at their next addition: an adorable, nameless young boy). But the biggest surprise came at the very end -- and it had nothing to do with Randall.

Two episodes ago, in Part 1 of the three-week saga, audiences got a deeper look at the demons that plagued

Why I'm So Conflicted Over Kevin's Gay Cruising Storyline on Riverdale

We all know Kevin Keller, the very handsome gay man on Riverdale who just wants to be loved. Even though Kevin emerges as a relatively strong character in the show's first season, he kind of ends up standing to the side as the problems surrounding Archie, Veronica, Archie's abs, Betty, and Jason Blossom's murder take center stage. Sure, Kevin has his boyfriend Joaquin, and he's definitely, like, there. But by the time we reach the season one finale, and even after the season two premiere, I still couldn't help feeling like he's more or less faded into the background. In the second episode of season two, that changes. Kevin gets something to do. Fresh off his breakup from Joaquin, Kevin is just like every other teenager: heartbroken and horny. It's tough for a small-town gay kid to immerse himself into the dating world. So, Kevin starts to cruise in the woods near town.

Does Kevin Have an Addiction Problem on 'This Is Us'?
Sylvester Stallone may have just ruined Kevin's life on This Is Us. The appearance of the superstar wasn't just a bit of stunt casting on This Is Us' part, a show that has already seen Seth Meyers and Ron Howard appear. It also reopened the barely closed wound of Jack's death for Kevin. Kevin was forced to think about his father and also aggravated the leg injury that plagued him during Jack's demise. All of this led to a ominous shot of Kevin popping a painkiller while Kate (off-screen) compared her brother to her dad. This implied that Kevin will have (or already does) have a substance abuse problem.

Performer of the Week: The Mayor's Brandon Micheal Hall

Performer of the Week: The Mayor's Brandon Micheal Hall
The Performer | Brandon Micheal Hall

The Show | The Mayor

The Episode | “Pilot” (Oct. 3, 2017)

The Performance | Let’s be real: As terrific as The Mayor‘s ensemble cast is, ABC’s freshman comedy was always going to live or die based on the strength of — duh — its mayor. Luckily, Hall is hella strong.

From the get-go, the Search Party vet had us eating out of the palm of his hand, as wannabe rap star Courtney Rose went from goofily flirting with his kicks to gossiping with his mom (Yvette Nicole Brown, sublime as ever) to admitting that he was only running

Kevin (Probably) Saves the World EPs on Jason Ritter's Superpower, Sibling Chemistry and Magical Universe

Kevin (Probably) Saves the World EPs on Jason Ritter's Superpower, Sibling Chemistry and Magical Universe
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World star Jason Ritter has a superpower — but it has nothing to do with ensuring humanity’s survival.

In ABC’s high-concept fantasy dramedy (premiering Tuesday at 10/9c), Ritter’s titular self-centered hero willingly admits that he’s not a good person. He wasn’t there for his sister Amy (Once Upon a Time‘s JoAnna Garcia Swisher) and niece Reese (Liv and Maddie‘s Chloe East) after his brother-in-law’s death, and he rates “money, naps, girls, sushi [and] muscles” above his newly discovered higher calling. But thanks to Ritter’s charming performance, “even when [Kevin] makes mistakes,

‘The Leftovers’ Review: Episode 3 Packs an Emotional Wallop as Scott Glenn and Mimi Leder Put on One Helluva Show

‘The Leftovers’ Review: Episode 3 Packs an Emotional Wallop as Scott Glenn and Mimi Leder Put on One Helluva Show
[Editor’s note: The following review contains spoilers for the “The Leftovers” Season 3, Episode 3, “Crazy Whitefella Thinking.”]

Immediate Reaction:

Last week, we watched Nora (in a phenomenal performance from Carrie Coon) refuse to acknowledge any kind of sign. This week, we watched Kevin Sr. (via an incredible performance from Scott Glenn) see signs everywhere. The last two episodes of “The Leftovers” have turned the spotlight on two unbelievable talents, but they’ve also dealt with extraordinary faith on each end of the spectrum: unflinching disbelief and resolute ideology.

And guess what? Neither Nora or Senior are Ok.

Senior, convinced God has sent him on a mission to save the world, nearly died in the Australian desert — like a modern day Jesus in the wilderness. He even laid down on a cross, further emphasizing his conviction that he, not his son, is the focus of this story. Every challenge wasn’t a sign for him to turn back, return to his family, and live out his life in peace,
