31 December 2012 9:00 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

We've arrived at the end.

Following a year-end countdown that has asked readers to vote on the Best New Show of 2012, along with the Best Comedy, it's now time to decide on the very best of those best.

Join our staff below and weigh in, TV Fanatics: What was the Best Show of 2012?

Miranda Wicker: Scandal. No show has captured my attention or kept me on my toes the way that this one has. Everything about it from the writing to the costuming is fantastic.

Kate Brooks: Revenge.

Gabrielle Moss: Breaking Bad.

Matt Richenthal: Dexter was not the best show of 2012. But it deserves recognition for the best bounce-back in recent memory. Dexter Season 6 was a disaster, but Dexter Season 7 was as engrossing, intriguing and as well-paced as this series gets.

Nick McHatton: Awake.

Dan Forcella: Breaking Bad had its best year since season two in 2012. Bryan Cranston put »

After an interesting — though lackluster overall — fall season of new broadcast TV, networks are set to unleash their midseason series.

Most Promising

1. The CW’s The Carrie Diaries (Premiere: Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. Est/5 p.m. Pst)

HBO’s hit series Sex and the City may have ended in 2004, but fashion and big dreams are still in vogue in The Carrie Diaries. Doe-eyed AnnaSophia Robb portrays the high school version of Carrie Bradshaw, the role that secured Sarah Jessica Parker »

Exclusive: Thn Talk To ‘Brooklyn Brothers’ Ryan O’Nan & Michael Weston

2 October 2012 2:15 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Brooklyn Brothers Beat The Best is currently touring the Us in two fashions, one as they promote their indie movie, that we recently reviewed, and secondly as the band that’s become a reality after following it fictionally through the film. It’s the debut feature for Ryan O’Nan on directorial and writing duty and competently accompanied by Michael Weston, the more experienced of the pair in the acting arena, and both of them equally a little crazy.

We caught up with them recently, to delve a little more into the film and confirm their equal, yet brilliant, madness.

Tell us a little more about Brooklyn Brothers Beat The Best and how it came to be?

Ryan: It’s about two misfit musicians and they’re at a point where they’re about to give up and, instead and somehow, put together a make-shift tour and try to come out the other end. »

Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best Movie Review

Title: Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best Director: Ryan O’Nan Starring: Ryan O’Nan, Michael Weston, Arielle Kebbel, Andrew McCarthy, Christopher McDonald, Jason Ritter, Wilmer Valderrama, Kate Baldwin, Charles Chu, Gregg Edelman, Melissa Leo, Jake Miller An offbeat, hipster-inflected road movie that almost steadfastly refuses to conform to expectation and sense, multi-hyphenate Ryan O’Nan’s “Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best” is a to-scale victory of quirky charm and feeling over sagacity. If that sounds like a backhanded compliment, which it kind of is, it’s also one certainly fitting for its protagonists. The tale of two struggling musicians trying to find their place in the world, ”Brooklyn Brothers” is a film with a restless soul. It likely wouldn’t  [ Read More ]

Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best | Review

24 September 2012 1:00 PM, PDT | ioncinema | See recent ioncinema news »

Battle of the Blah: O’Nan’s Debut Stale Quirk

Actor Ryan O’Nan makes his screenwriting and feature directorial debut with Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best, which, try as it might, never manages to get beyond a middling mentality. O’Nan and several co-stars do manage to squeeze some charm into the struggling picture, but are too often bogged down by a weak scenario, one we’ve seen so many times before that quirky charm isn’t enough to fuel it along or necessitate its existence. And according to one’s tastes, the original music for the film isn’t half bad, but unfortunately, steals the show.

After getting kicked out of another band, this time by Kyle (Jason Ritter, who prefers to write songs about monsters), for having songs that are too “sad” and serious, Alex (Ryan O’Nan) meets further injustice during a “gig” playing for handicapped children. »
