Amy Adams drop dead gorgeous on Oscars' Red Carpet Amy Adams at the 83rd Academy Awards Looking drop dead gorgeous, Amy Adams is pictured above donning a scintillating blue dress while arriving at the 2011 Oscar ceremony, held on Feb. 27 at the Kodak Theatre in the fast-thumping heart of Hollywood. Adams was – for the third time in six years (more info below) – a Best Supporting Actress nominee. This time around, she was shortlisted for her performance in David O. Russell's The Fighter, a generally well-regarded and surprisingly successful (in the U.S.) boxing drama that earned fellow supporting actress Melissa Leo the evening's Oscar. Another The Fighter actor, Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight), took home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar statuette. In fact, the film's only major cast member left without an Oscar nomination in the acting categories was lead Mark Wahlberg (pictured with wife) – though he did »

14 May 2015 8:42 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Whether it’s a ruling patriarch in Meet the Parents or a best friend revisiting his youth in Last Vegas, Hollywood veteran Robert De Niro is no stranger to playing the archetypal old guy in movies. One who doesn’t understand the Internet or the lingo of 2015. All of these tropes and more can be glimpsed in the first trailer for Nancy Meyers’ new comedy, The Intern, but at its core it’s about an unlikely friendship between De Niro and Interstellar star Anne Hathaway.

Stepping into the shoes of one Ben Whittaker, Meyers’ latest will see De Niro play a man fed up with retirement, and so he quickly enrolls in an internship program with a online fashion giant in order to get back into the swing of things. Here, he’ll meet Jules Ostin (Hathaway), a well-established visionary who founded the company herself and is now overseeing its »

Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro become best friends in first trailer for ‘The Intern’

13 May 2015 6:08 PM, PDT | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

Who wouldn’t want to be Anne Hathaway’s best friend?

The first trailer for The Intern has acting legend Robert De Niro playing that role as the two star in writer/director Nancy Meyers’ latest comedy. The film also stars Rene Russo, Anders Holm, Andrew Rannells, Adam Devine, Celia Weston, Nat Wolff, Linda Lavin and Zack Perlman.

The Intern follows De Niro as Ben Whitaker, a retired widower who decides to get back in the game by becoming a “senior intern” at a major fashion company, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway). Before long, Ben proves himself a valuable member of the team and an important person in Jules’ life.

Meyers also directed and wrote The Parent Trap, Something’s Gotta Give, It’s Complicated, and The Holiday so the comedic tone hits much the same, even though they exchange a romantic relationship for a more platonic one. »

The Intern Trailer: Robert De Niro is Anne Hathaway’s Intern/Best Friend

13 May 2015 5:43 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for their upcoming comedy, The Intern. Written and directed by the oscar-nominated filmmaker Nancy Meyers (It's Complicated, Something's Gotta Give), the film stars Robert De Niro as Ben Whitaker, a retired widower who decides to get back in the game by becoming a "senior intern" at a major fashion company, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway). Before long, Ben proves himself a valuable member of the team and an important person in Jules' life. The Intern also stars Rene Russo, Anders Holm, Andrew Rannells, Adam Devine, Celia Weston, Nat Wolff, Linda Lavin and Zack Perlman. The film arrives in theaters September 15, 2015. Trailer via Warner Bros. Pictures. The trailer is essentially three minutes of Robert De Niro complimenting Anne Hathaway in varied, but always earnest, ways. Is his character constantly doped up on Valium or something? This is definitely a Nancy Meyers movie. »

Adult Beginners | Review

Arrested Development: Katz’s Debut an Affectionate Familial Dramedy

A familiar yet generally charming vehicle that impressively utilizes a pair of actors known mostly from a mainstream comedic realm, Adult Beginners is a low-key dramedy assembled from unpredictable voices. Premiering at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival before making its Us bow at SXSW earlier in 2015, it serves as producer Ross Katz’s feature debut (previously he directed the 2009 television drama Taking Chance, starring Kevin Bacon), with Nick Kroll credited with the story, and a screenplay penned by Liz Flahive (“Nurse Jackie”) and Jeff Cox (Blades of Glory, 2007). Neither as broadly comedic or serious minded as the credits would seem to indicate, the title serves as an estranged sibling reunion film that plays like the lighter, rosy faced cousin of last year’s The Skeleton Twins. Produced by the increasingly philanthropic Duplass Bros., the film displays the sort of vibrant charm »

The 7 Lines That Defined the American Horror Story: Freak Show Finale

22 January 2015 4:30 AM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Barkers rev up your engines. The Freak Show is over, and the incessant quote canonizing can begin. As another season of American Horror Story closed on Wednesday, the freak fetishist became the freak. (If that meant we got to see Finn Wittrock in his skivvies, then so be it.) But Dandy Mott's downfall was just the beginning of the curiosities delivered by Elsa Mars and her band of outsiders. Picking up short after Dandy (Wittrock) began his tyrannical rule of the side show, the anthology show's season finale was a veritable a parade of zingers and bon mots worthy of creator Ryan Murphy, »
