'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' success turns eyes toward 'Eclipse' and 'Breaking Dawn'

27 November 2009 12:51 AM, PST | Twilight Examiner | See recent Twilight Examiner news »

Without a doubt, The Twilight Saga: New Moon's uber-successful run in the movie marketplace has turned otherwise unknowing heads, appeased the wishes of Twilight series fans, and left everyone looking forward to the next installment(s) of the Twilight series films. Of course, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse wrapped up before New Moon hit the first theater, but The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (be it one part or two) has yet to even reach the official greenlight stage - though the studio has admitted looking forward to making the film(s). Eclipse, which is directed by David Slade, is due in theaters on June 30, 2010, and it's already a hot-button point of discussion with some of the cast. For instance, Kristen Stewart revealed ... 'New Moon' Co-Star Thinks 'Breaking Dawn' Green Light Is Imminent

After the 'Twilight' sequel's opening weekend, Michael Welch and others assume Summit announcement is coming soon.

The signs, it would seem, are everywhere. It might just be the worst-kept secret in all of Hollywood. So, why hasn't the "Breaking Dawn" movie been announced yet?

For starters, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Summit Entertainment just announced a television deal with FX to broadcast four "Twilight" films. Rob Pattinson told us that the movie might be filmed in Portland. Ryan Seacrest's radio show recently furthered the rumor (heard from a Summit exec's wife at a nail salon, mind you) that the final "Twilight" book was being split into two movies. And then there's the fact that it would be preposterous that an opening of $143 million in could be ignored and everyone would just release "Eclipse" and call it a day. »

Michael Welch reflects on 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' opening night numbers

23 November 2009 4:48 PM, PST | Twilight Examiner | See recent Twilight Examiner news »

After boasting the biggest opening day in film history, you almost have to wonder what those involved with the making of The Twilight Saga: New Moon would have to say about the $76.27 million opening that the film enjoyed Friday. Well, thanks to MTV and Michael Welch ("Mike Newton" in the film), you can know. He sat down with MTV to discuss, among other things, his reaction to the news that New Moon had become the biggest selling opening day in history, expressing his complete surprise at the feat. While Welch might've been one of the actors of note in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, he doesn't seem to be pret »

Twilight New Moon Review: Faithfully Vapid

The technical complexities of handling CGI wolves crucial to the plot of New Moon fell beyond the qualifications of Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke so more experienced director Chris Weitz was brought on board. His time spent working with a myriad of digital creatures on The Golden Compass proves a perfect match to capture the ferocity of and track »
