Every now and then a movie comes along that challenges the socially accepted. Films that take actual real life situations that are being completely ignored or brushed under a rug and shines a light on it. These films must always be done with the utmost respect or not only do you lose the audience but you also miss the point completely – which in this case, could easily be a concern going into this, especially considering its billed as a revenge flick.

M.F.A is a movie that shines that light on the ever growing campus sexual assault problem and not only lifts the rug but gives us a powerful stirring unflinching look at very very current issue at hand. Who

Lloyd Lee Michael Welch Jr. pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree felony murder when he appeared in court in Bedford County, Virginia, the Washington Post reports — partially resolving a decades-old case with a long grip on the community.

Despite Welch’s plea, key questions about what happened and by whom remain unanswered. Prosecutors have said that Katherine Lyon, 10, and 12-year-old Sheila Lyon were abducted in Maryland in March 1975 and then killed,

Noelle is a shy and inhibited university student, reservedly working through a fine arts degree without much notice. In an effort to come out of her shell, she attends a party with a classmate-turned-crush where she becomes the victim of a brutal assault when he violently rapes her. Noelle tries to report the assault, but through a insidious web of victim-blaming, lack of resources, and general campus-wide rape culture, she receives no help as it becomes clear that the institution doesn’t care. She turns to a support group made up of other survivors who deal in safety measures and talking through trauma, rather than what Noelle is ultimately after: retribution. She gains access to information that lets her track down

Film Review: ‘A Haunting in Cawdor’

Film Review: ‘A Haunting in Cawdor’
A long, mild road to a murky payoff, “A Haunting in Cawdor” stirs some supernatural suspense around an ad hoc company of young offenders mounting that bad-luck token among stage classics, “Macbeth.” Phil Wurtzel’s Michigan-shot feature wants us to keep guessing whether the vaguely spooky goings-on are all in the troubled heroine’s head, due to the “cursed” play, ghosts or something else — but it’s increasingly hard to care, and the resolution pretty much chooses “all of the above.” This uninspired if competently made low-budget indie is likely to underwhelm horror fans as it opens on single screens in 10 cities this Friday, and in subsequent home-format release.

Last Night on Late Night, 5/15/15-5/18/15: ‘Last Week Tonight’ on Chicken Farming, and recap of Friday

Last night on late night, John Oliver talked Nsa, FIFA, and contract chicken farming. On Friday, Oprah and Norm MacDonald came on Late Show, Jimmy Kimmel interviewed a Ucsb student whose flute recital invite went viral, and Anna Kendrick hates her “resting bitchy face”.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

Oliver was surprised to report that the Us House of Representatives has passed a measure (H.R. 2048) to stop the Nsa collection of telephone data. That measure will be opposed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, but has a good chance of passing, due to relatively strong bipartisan support and the support of the President, the Director of National Intelligence, and a federal appeals court.

Next, Oliver discusses the upcoming presidential election for FIFA. President Sepp Blatter, a maligned figure in world sport, stands for re-election. Blatter is responsible for handing out the 2018 World Cup to Russia, the 2022 World Cup to Qatar,
