Catherine O'Hara has recalled a heartwarming meeting with former Home Alone co-star Macaulay Culkin, almost 25 years after the family comedy hit the big screen.

O'Hara played Culkin's mother in John Hughes's Christmas classic, and both reprised their roles for Hughes's sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York in 1992.

While promoting her new CBC Canadian sitcom Schitt's Creek on Watch What Happens Live, the star said: "I haven't seen him for years and years, but I saw him two years ago - a year-and-a-half-ago? - at a Martin Mull art opening, and he was coming out, and he went, 'Mommy!'

"And I said, 'Baby!'" she laughed.

The actress's husband, production designer Bo Welch, was so touched by the mini-reunion that he had to capture the moment on camera.

She continued: "My husband, who's usually cool about these things, was like, 'Okay, both of you get together, I'm getting a picture! »
