Locke, 2013

Directed by Steven Knight

Starring Tom HardyOlivia Coleman, Ruth Wilson, Andrew Scott, Ben Daniels, Tom Holland, Bill Milner, Danny Webb

Synopsis:

Ivan Locke, a dedicated family man and successful construction manager, receives a phone call on the eve of the biggest challenge of his career that sets in motion a series of events that threaten his careful cultivated existence.

Shot over a couple of weeks, Locke takes place solely in the car of Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy) as he makes the choice to drive to a hospital rather than go home to his family as a one night stand has resulted in him becoming a father. Sacrificing his stable and loving life as well as his career, Locke battles with his inner demons in this well-acted drama that is a better concept than it is a movie.

Ironclad: Battle For Blood – The Review

11 July 2014 6:09 AM, PDT | WeAreMovieGeeks.com | See recent WeAreMovieGeeks.com news »

Directed by Jonathan English with Michelle Fairley, Roxanne McKee, Danny Webb.

Ironclad: Battle For Blood is a sequel to Ironclad which was released in 2011. I have not seen the first film but based on what is on view in Battle for Blood it would be worth seeking out. Ironclad: Battle for Blood is a different type of historical war movie. There are no fancy sword moves, no spell casting wizards or dragons running amok. What we have here is a serious version of the type of thing Monty Python used to do, especially in their movie about the Holy Grail, showing what life in the middle ages was really like. Dirty, dangerous, ignorant, short and brutish.

Opening titles tell us that in the 12th Century England had laid waste to Scotland and then withdrawn. Scottish clans raided estates and castles all over the northern part of England in retaliation.

Film Review: Tom Hardy’s Mesmerizing ‘Locke’ Makes You Question Who You Are

3 May 2014 6:43 PM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – It’s impossible to simply play spectator through the forward-moving experimental indie “Locke” without analyzing your own past. And only a zombie could sit through this one-man film without questioning what choices you’d make in Tom Hardy’s shoes.

The 85-minute film, which stars Tom Hardy and features only him on screen simply in a car, isn’t a movie you can simply be entertained by. Though the credits only list Hardy (who played Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises”) along with various other people for their voice work, the other star of the film who is quietly uncredited is you.

Rating: 4.5/5.0

And that is this visionary film’s primary power. From a box-office perspective, the film’s challenge is its small release: only 25 theatres and $112,000 earned domestically over the past week since it opened anywhere. But for those who are able to find it, you’ll see »

Us Trailer & Images For Hardy In ‘Locke’

6 March 2014 10:17 PM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

In what looks to be a one-man show for Tom Hardy, Locke sees a man’s life come crashing down around him during his drive home. This entire trailer takes place within the car as Ivan Locke (Hardy) is inundated with a number of phone calls referencing a life changing incident. From the the writer of Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises, this is sure to be a powerful and dramatic piece, Steven Knight also takes on directorial duties in his followup to last year’s Hummingbird.

The trailer will certainly be gripping for those that like strong performances, and the mystery surrounding the calls is also something that will certainly have me watching the film intently. Obviously the images aren’t much to go on, with them all just looking like Tom Hardy in  car, but still, don’t give up on it based on those.
