The Wayans family gives credit where credit is due. Though he was a writer on Dance Flick, Shawn Wayans credited his nephew, Damon Wayans Jr., with one of the film.s biggest laughs. He stops hitting on the female lead when a group of African-American women walk by.
.He added that in the audition,. Shawn said. .That.s what got him the part pretty much. No really, he worked really hard. We didn.t want to make it too Wayans-y. we were actually trying to look for somebody else and he came in and red. We let him come back again and the second time he came back and read, he just blew us away..

The Wayans gang and their spoofing ways are back with a new film, Dance Flick, which is set to hit theaters on May 22, and you certainly get more of the Wayans' for your buck here. Not only do we get to see the familiar faces of Keenan Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans all producing, starring and writing, but the family is letting some of the younger members of the family share the spotlight as well. Damon Wayans Jr. stars in the film as Thomas Uncles (get it?) and another nephew to Keenan, Shawn and Marlon, Damien Dante Wayans, takes the helm as the director here. I sat down with Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Damien Dante Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., along with actress Shoshana Bush, who portrays Megan White in this send-off of such dance movies like Save The Last Dance, Step Up 2 the Streets and even classics like Fame and Flashdance.

Our quick thoughts: The Wayans brothers are back in action on the big screen, and this time, they spend about 83 minutes spoofing all kinds of dance flicks, including “Save the Last Dance,” “Step Up” and “Stomp the Yard.” But is it a good spoof? And most importantly, is it funny?

Counting down to its theatrical debut, "Dance Flick" has got five new clips available for viewing pleasure. Varied in running time, the snippets help to give more idea on how tickling the movie will be. In the clip titled "No I in Team", for example, Thomas who is played by Damon Wayans Jr. explains that there is no "I" in team which leads to a ridiculous argument.
"Dance Flick" spoofs many dance movies from classic "Flashdance" to recent hits "Step Up" and "You Got Served". The story itself centers on a beautiful young woman, Megan White, and a young street dancer, Thomas Uncles. After her mother dies, White finds herself on a series of misadventures when she moves to the mean streets of the inner-city, where she meets Uncles who shares similar interest with her, dancing.
This parody movie directed by Damien Wayans was originally set for February 6 release in theaters across the U.

The movie studio executives play God around this time every year. Don’t listen to mother nature … summer starts May 1. The blockbusters are upon us, and it looks like May might just be The big month of movies this year. Sure, we have to wait for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, but we’ve already been waiting for that last one for a while now. And it looks like each week we will have a new box office winner … my hunch is Wolverine will have the biggest opening weekend, but when it’s all said and done, Star Trek will be box office king. Let’s get to the films.
May 1 Movie of the Week
The Stars: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Will I Am, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch
