New Poster & Trailer For Small Apartments, Starring Matt Lucas!

22 December 2012 6:46 AM, PST | Filmofilia | See recent Filmofilia news »

Small Apartments, remember that one? Sure you do, we’re talking about Jonas Akerlund‘s latest movie which will finally open this February! But, until that happens, we have a completely new & (let me say) – a completely weird trailer for the whole thing, and I’m sure you’re going to love it! Check out the rest of this report for more details…

In case you’re not so familiar with this project, I will first inform you that this dark comedy premiered at the SXSW festival this March and that Jonas Akerlund directed it from a Chris Millis‘ script which centers on a guy named Franklin Franklin who kills his landlord by mistake.

Franklin Franklin is a fully realized and sympathetic protagonist in the vein of Ignatius Reilly, a simple man who yearns for “a land of pastoral serenity” devoid of the irritants of contemporary urban life. He lives »

Paul Greengrass & George Clooney To Join Forces For New Crime Thriller

29 November 2012 9:30 AM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Paul Greengrass was recently linked to a film about the Martin Luther King assassination called Memphis and now it looks like the The Bourne Ultimatum director will lead another project which has already attracted some serious star powers. George Clooney is set to lead the untitled Crime-Thriller which will be set in New York and feature crime syndicates…and that’s pretty much all we know at this point. It is scripted by Argo screenwriter, Chris Terrio, and will be produced by several of Argo’s producers including Clooney himself.

It sounds promising, but obviously it’s hard to fully gauge with this little information. If it reaches anywhere near the quality of Argo though, it is sure to be amazing. Paul Greengrass next project, Captain Phillips, is scheduled to come out next year.

Captain Phillips is directed by Paul Greengrass. It stars Tom Hanks, Catherine Keener, and David Warshofsky. »

Twelve The Master Photos with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix

12 photos have arrived from director Paul Thomas Anderson's latest drama, The Master, which is already being heralded by critics as a modern masterpiece and the film to beat at this year's Oscars. The story follows a man (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who creates a questionable new religion that soon gains quite a following. Check out these latest "low-fi" images, followed by comments from Philip Seymour Hoffman and producer JoAnne Sellar, who both downplay the movie's connection to L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology.

Attempting to play down the presumed fact that The Master is a thinly veiled biopic about L. Ron Hubbard and his creation of Scientology, Philip Seymour Hoffman made the following statement.

"It's not the L. Ron Hubbard story. [Scientology] was one of the bigger movements at the time, but there were a lot of movements at that time. There's nothing about how I'm behaving or talking that echoes [Hubbard]. I »

The first official look at Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's Lincoln has finally arrived and to no surprise it is a spot on appearance. Based on the biopic "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln" by Doris Kearns Goodwin, the film tells the story of the 16th President of the United States and alongside Day-Lewis in the lead role he is joined by Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Joseph Cross, Gloria Reuben, David Warshofsky, David Strathairn, Walt Goggins, Lee Pace, Jackie Earle Haley, David Oyelowo and Jared Harris.
